Great vamp gore fest movie
I have been waiting for a good vamp movie since 30 Days of Night. Weir kills it with her portrayal of a millennia old vamp, movie has laughs and plenty of gore. Loved it personally !

Light-hearted gore fest
I just watched this movie in the cinema (April 2024) and it really is a lot of fun and in my view it is modern masterpiece and thoroughly rewatchable.Tone wise the movie is in the same arena as ‘Ready or Not’, just with tad more grit in it.It’s a kidnap movie turned fun horror based gore-fest, led by an ensemble cast, including several prominent modern horror actors. While it’s not exactly a comedy, it is darkly comic, and it’s a lot of fun.

A bite of entretainment
is a 2024 American horror comedy film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick.[6] The film follows a group of kidnappers who capture the daughter of a powerful underworld figure and demand $50 million for her release, unaware the young girl is actually a vampire. It stars Alisha Weir as Abigail, alongside Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito. The film was announced to be in development in April 2023, with Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett attached as directors, and Shields and Busick hired to write the screenplay. It was also announced that the film would be a co-production between Bettinelli-Olpin, Gillett, and Chad Villella's Radio Silence Productions, James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak's Project X Entertainment, and Tripp Vinson's Vinson Films. Barrera was cast that same month, with Weir, Stevens, Newton, Durand, Cloud, and Catlett hired the next month, and Esposito rounding out the main cast in June.Principal photography began that month in Dublin, Ireland, but was suspended at the beginning of July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming resumed at the end of that month and wrapped in December. This was the last film that Cloud worked on as he died on July 31, 2023, shortly after wrapping his scenes; the film is dedicated to him. Brian Tyler, a frequent collaborator of Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett, was hired to compose and conduct the film's score.Abigail had its world premiere at the Overlook Film Festival on April 7, 2024, and was theatrically released in the United States by Universal Pictures on April 19, 2024. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and has grossed $30 million worldwide.Enjoyable Vampire movie that does at the end descends at the end into a team-up against that bad guy.

Pinky Promise
A group of criminals are brought together to kidnap a 12 year old girl and then watch over her for 24 hours until her father pays the ransom. However, when they find out her father is a powerful underworld figure they decide the ransom money is no longer worth the danger their lives are now in and attempt to leave the house. When they find themselves trapped within the house they slowly begin to realise it is no ordinary little girl they have kidnapped.Abigail is the most fun I have had while watching a horror movie since the director's breakout film; Ready or Not and you can instantly tell this movie is from the same directors with both films being very similar in style and setting despite being very different stories. Alisha Weir who plays the title character was absolutely superb playing the young girl who switches from vulnerable victim to unstoppable threat. This also links in to the only negative about the movie. I think it would have been better to market this as a kidnap thriller and have the audience go in knowing nothing about the true face of the big bad of the movie, it would have made such a cool plot twist but I understand they wanted to attract the horror fans and so revealed Abigail's true nature in the trailers. Despite this, I still had a great time watching this, the supporting cast were great, Alisha Weir steals every scene she is in and it's just a funny, gory horror that I would certainly watch again.

"..A VERY COOL FUN VAMPIRE MOVIE.."
I will update the Blu-ray details on release.PLOT...After a group of criminals kidnap the ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, they retreat to an isolated mansion, unaware that they're locked inside with no normal little girl.Abigail is probably one of the best vampire movies in the last few years, good to see the genre is still very much alive with such great new ideas, this movie has all your classic vampire traits with the blood sucking violence more than anything and at the same time mix's some good humour and drama with the horror! The story is good and is not as predictable as you might think, its well acted with a great cast especially Alisha Weir who plays Abigail, a very talented child actress who sure puts herself through some gruesome stuff in this movie, the rest of the cast is good too the beautiful Kathryn Newton (Freaky) and Melissa Barrera (scream 5-6) The movie has plenty red stuff, blood exploding and spraying all over the screen once the action starts, all on a good decent budget too with a mixture of practical and decent CG. its genuinely funny at times with some mild humour. Overall its a great fun and wildly entertaining vampire horror and probably one of the best in the last few years, don't miss this one!Rated 18 (strong bloody violence) Running time 1hr 49mins. 2024.
