Who Wouldn't Like Musubi?
The Spam Musubi Mold Kit is a handy tool for making delicious musubi at home, but it's not without its quirks. Here's my take: - Effective Slicer: The slicer included in the kit works like a charm, producing 11 evenly sized slices of Spam with ease. It's a time-saver and ensures uniformity in each musubi. - Room for Improvement: While the slicer impresses, the mold is a bit too large for my liking. This affects the rice to Spam ratio, resulting in musubi that feel a bit too rice-heavy. However, the press feature of the mold is a nice touch, allowing for easy shaping under pressure.Overall, the Spam Musubi Mold Kit gets the job done, especially with its efficient slicer. However, I'd appreciate a smaller mold size for better rice and Spam balance. Nonetheless, it's a handy kit for musubi enthusiasts looking to craft homemade treats with ease.

A Little Learning Curve To Make Perfect Sushi
This review is for Choxila Spam Musubi Mold Kit. My wife was so excited to get this product. She had been making Musubi by hand. We were surprised to see that the sushi mold and spam slicer came in 2 separate packaging. As you can see from the pics that my wife had a little difficulty using this product. It did not come with instructions. The rice tended to stick to the inside of the sushi mold. Hopefully, it will go smoother the next time she uses it.

Simple and Easy!
The media could not be loaded. This little stainless steel Musubi Molded Kit is really neat. I had never heard of Musubi until I got this kit. After researching what it was and found out it was a Hawaiian Cuisine. I had to try it out. Nor have I ever heard of Roasted seaweed sheets to wrap your Cuisine and eat. It just sounded so inviting. I thought my first experience was not bad and the results of the meal were delicious. I thought gee whiz how you make Musubi? It was so exciting, and I could not wait to get started. I looked online at some recipes but most of the ingredients I did not have so I just created my own style of rice cakes. I first put together my creation of a sauce and added it to my stir fry of green beans and peas and carrots, Cabage, diced onions, eggs, and sesame seeds and bacon. I then cooked my rice and stirred in all the vegetable mixtures. Then I brought out my Musubi mold kit and stuffed all the rice mixture into it and it came out beautifully shaped and it was a smooth operation gliding out the mold. I then wrapped the cake up with seaweed sheet and top it off with a slice of maple syrup spam. Not bad for my first try and it was delicious. But I found out that I can have any size I want with this mold kit, and I do not have to stuff the molder all the way to the top and it will make many thick sizes of my rice cakes. I just must make sure I have rice that sticks together well. And usually that is what you would use to make rice cakes. I just used minute rice and it came out nice. I also found out that I could make two cakes or three smaller sizes cakes in the same molder by separating them. I just packed it into the molder on one side and added a little space in the molder and packed it in on the other side and wham two little cakes came out. Then I thought what if I had a piece of square tin or something else square and just placed it inside the molder to separate my cakes. Then I could have many little cakes. So, you see this molder has lots of potential to be creative. My spam already had the maple syrup on it in the can, so it was incredibly soft before trying out the slicer. Even as soft as the spam was the slicer cut genuinely nice square shapes and it was quick. The slicer works effectively and smoothly, and I found out that not only can I slice spam or ham and other soft foods I found out I can slice up strips of spam and even dice up spam or ham with this slicer and it worked effectively. I am sure I will eventually find more uses with the molder and slicer later. So, this slicer is a gift to explore the many wonders of enjoying your creativity in the kitchen and just a lot of fun with easy and smooth and quick operating of slicing, dicing and striping spam or ham and other soft foods like eggs, cheese, etc. And the molder is just so cool to make different shapes of rice cakes.

Works well
(Spam Musubi Mold Kit - Stainless Steel Onigiri Maker with Spam Slicer - Perfect for Hawaiian Grip Sushi / $20 at the time of ordering)I have a plastic mold for making Spam Musubi. It’s basically just a rectangle container (with a hole to push the rice out) and a separate lid to compact the rice. It works fine. This 1-piece is a nice step up. With this one, I can pack in the rice more tightly. And then I just push out the entire rice base evenly. So awesome. I’ve previously used the triangle Musubi mold from this brand. Musubi shape aside, they both work the same way. Quality of materials is great. Durable, lightweight metals. The spam slicer is a nice addition. Materials were good. Not quite as robust as the mold, but definitely durable enough to just slice spam. Just a note, each item came in it’s own box (like they could be sold separately). But the 2 boxes were taped together.Washing the spam slicer is easy enough. As for the Musubi mold, it’s super easy to wash the outside and inside by hand. But, the metal plate that slides forward (when pushing the Musubi out) doesn’t slide past the top of the metal mold. So, there’s really no way to clean inside there. It is dishwasher safe and, And a dishwasher cycle cleans it pretty well. But just something to note when hand-washing. That aside, now that I’ve used it, I could not live without it. My plastic set has beed retired to a kitchen drawer. I can easily recommend this product.

Easy to use and helps make a perfectly tight Musubi
This little gadget is quite handy in allowing the rice to be quite compact for your Spam Musubi. It's durable in construction but yet lightweight and easy to cleanup. Overall it's a good unit and makes Musubi making fun and easy without guesswork or the rice spilling out all over.
