Often referred to as The Tiffany Stone, Sea Opal Glass or Bertrandite, Opalite is a man-made glass which can appear anywhere from clear to milky in colour. Placed against a dark background, it appears to have an unearthly blue glow and often has a slightly rainbowed appearance. Due to this beautiful effect, it is often used as a substitute in jewellery making for moonstone or natural opal.
