These whiskey stones work perfectly!
These whiskey stones are great. I bought them as a gift for a friend that likes bourbon and that I know is very picky and hates the ice-melting effect. I thought these would be perfect to allow them to chill their drink without watering it down. The package arrive very fast and I was pleased to see the nice box they were in when it arrived. The granite cubes are of really high quality and it came with a handsome little felt bag.I was initially curious to try them out, but not being a liquor drinker I put the whiskey stones in the bag and threw it in the freezer to chill them and try them on a soda beverage... the stones are so cool !My pop was the perfect sipping temperature and didn't water down (yes these can work on all drinks it seems, not just liquor or whiskey hehe).I did eventually give them to my friend and he loves them! He know what they were for right away, apparently I scored points with this great birthday gift. Highly recommended!

Very nice appearance and feel ...if whiskey stones are what you want.
I was initially a little dubious about the idea of whiskey stones made out of Granite rather than the usual Soapstone, as granite can be rather sharp and somewhat porous. I took a chance anyway because of the slightly higher thermal mass. It turned out the granite of these Arctic Stones was cut and finished just right, so it felt "solid" (maybe even "macho"), yet didn't scratch glassware or absorb odors.I'm less enamored of the whole idea of any sort of whiskey stones though. They definitely make a positive stylistic statement, which is nice if that's what you want. But I've found that if your goal is simply to cool your whiskey a little bit without watering it down a whole lot, it works better to simply keep the bottle (maybe the glass too?) in a wine cooler (or other "not so cold" refrigeration device).

Doesn't work as advertised, very disappointed
I was excited to use these stones and left them in the freezer for over 24 hours before putting them in a glass of whiskey. Five minutes later, the whiskey is room temperature. I'm highly disappointed and feel like these whiskey stones aren't much more than a novelty. Save yourself the $16 and stick with ice if you want a properly chilled drink.

For whiskey enthusiasts!
Bought these for my husband who buys expensive artisanal whiskies. He loves them and uses his rocks when ever he drinks it. They're a nice little gift idea for the dude in your life. Just FYI they are kept in the freezer and don't work well to chill other drinks because they're not meant to chill whiskey in the same way an ice block does. So don't buy for multi-tasking.

Great service. Great product. Whiskey done right!
I've always taken my whiskey neat because I didn't want the ice watering down the flavor experience, but after taking a whiskey tasting course, I learned the importance of bringing it to just the right temperature for tasting. Most scotch is meant to be drunk at roughly the room temperature of an old Scottish parlor, which is slightly cooler than a modern, centrally heated American home. Ice cubes will bring the drink to far too cool of a temperature and, when it melts, will lower both the ABV and the full taste of the drink. The instructor of the course recommended stones like these and, I have to say, I've been really satisfied with my purchase. The stones came in a great bag for freezing and storing (I was concerned about keeping the stones sterile since I'd be putting them in my drink, but freezing them while in the bag seems to work great). The package also included instructions for getting the stones to just the right temperature, which was a great bonus for a novice like myself. They arrived quickly and without any trouble. After using the stones several times, I've had no complaints. I think I'll be ordering more of these for some of my whiskey aficionado friends!

Not for me...
These are not working for me. I must put 4 or more stores in the glass to drop the temperature noticeably. When I do, I then must be careful to not swirl the bourbon on the stones so much as I might break the glass. And thee there is the noise of the stones hitting each other and the glass...!
