Lonely Planet Kids Dinosaur Atlas (Creature Atlas)

This order should have been under my mother's name. She is enjoying it. Just glancing through it now, I see it has thick sturdy pages, some of which fold out, and flaps/windows which open! Great graphics. As an atlas, there are maps - great to see where fossils are found geographically. The first map is Africa,Australia,Japan, and England, and all between (on one page). Second, North America, third, South America (2 page spread), with subsequent maps detailing the first map. Interesting Facts.

This is a fantastic book for all dino-lovers. There are so many fantastic pictures and little readers will really appreciate all of the pop up and openings throughout the book. It's really big too, so there's lots of info. Definitely recommend!!

Really nice book. Probably too wordy for a little one but they still love looking at all the pictures. 3 & 7 yr old really enjoyed it.

Wonderful book. Beautifully illustrated and instructive at the same time. Small children will need help with all the pull-and-flip gizmos.

My son knows every dinosaur name this book teaches him so much about where they are from. He lobes it and it's a great quality.

My kindergartner loves dinosaurs at the moment, so this seemed like an obvious book to request for her. I know that a lot of scientific knowledge about dinosaurs has changed since I was a child, and I wanted to make sure to get an up-to-date book. I am mostly happy with Dinosaur Atlas by Lonely Planet Kids.This is a well-constructed book with thick pages and a hard cover. There are lots of pull-out pages and flaps to lift, which means that there is a ton of information. The layout can be a bit confusing and difficult to follow at times. The book is intended more for older elementary school kids who are reading independently; however, this book will also work as a resource for younger children with help from an adult.Overall, I was pleased the construction of the book and the quality of information. Most of the facts are aligned with current science as far as I can tell. As some other reviewers have noted, the illustrations are not aligned quite as well. Dinosaur Atlas is a pretty good dinosaur resource for children. It has some flaws, but it does a decent job of following the science in a rapidly changing field of study. Personally, I would like a cleaner layout and updated illustrations, but I think the book is usable and enjoyable as is.

This is for a present and is sealed in a protective film so haven't opened it. Good size book with beautiful colours on the cover. Have had other books by this company and was happy with them. Was on offer so was good value.

Great book with a fantastic mix of pictures, facts, flaps and fold out pages to keep a child entertained for hours and hours.The illustrations are fantastic with a great mix of cartoons, realism and photos of fossils and their discoverers. The pronunciation guides are also great and has the whole family turned dinosaur experts.We especially love the actual size representation of claws and teeth. Really gives a child a sense of scale.We have been rereading this book most evenings since Christmas.If your little one is Dino mad then this is an absolute must have.
