Although there is no earthly reason I need a squishy toy, I simply could not resist the adorable design of this “Bunny Toast” version which features a round rabbit fast asleep on a bed of thick toast, using a fried egg as a blanket. It’s much bigger than I expected at around 7.5 x 9cm and it is satisfyingly squishy. It can be compacted into a fist-sized ball, and it is fascinating to watch the slow rebound process as every tiny wrinkle disappears and eventually it looks good as new. I didn’t see this mentioned in the Amazon product listing, but it also smells quite distinctly of cake, which makes for a pleasant change from all the plastic products which just about knock you out with their fumes upon opening. This comes in a variety of kawaii-type designs combining animals with food, and I’m sure one could easily be tempted into collecting them (though do be aware there is no special packaging). I do think the current price of £9.99 seems a bit higher than I would have expected, but this is clearly better quality than most squishy toys I have seen.

Squishy toys were all the rage a couple of years back but recently, at least in the school's around here, the heat has cooled off. There were too many of them and the quality was not great. However, there is still room for someone to collect a squishy is they like and fans of the anime style are going to like the range from Anboor.We have the 'Bunny Food' squishy. This is not some lettuce or pellets, but a cute little bunny asleep on some toast using a fried egg as a blanket. It looks great and is very squishy. I have no idea why the rabbit is so small or think using a greasy egg to sleep under is a clever idea, but it captures that cute and anarchic style. The children love this toy, and the quality is good. I do think that like all squishy toys it is a gimmick and does not have that much real purpose, but as a fun gift to a manga fan.
