Great when working with unistrut
We have the Dawson 19mm (3/4") version of this socket at work, and love it when working putting together assembly with unistrut where strut nuts are not the way to go. This product nearly identical but is good for 17mm (11/16") nuts instead. These sockets are narrow enough to fit between the strut rails which is a massive plus over a conventional socket or wrench as it makes accessing nuts in hard to reach places EASY compared to a traditional socket or wrench. These sockets are high quality and work great on impact drivers. Really no complaints. If you use unistrut on a regular basis this is a very handy tool to add to your tool box.

Unistrut workflow enhancer
How did I never know about this thing until now? The knuckle-busting frustration of using open-end wrenches or <gasp> or other tools to grab hex heads down inside a piece of strut are history. If you are using any fastener in there above 9/16" (that size normal deep well socket already fits fine), these things are a lifesaver. This one is 17mm or 11/16" and works beautifully. I'm in the process of putting a roof rack on a 48-foot mobile lab trailer, as well as building shop fixtures, and this Unistrut socket will get a lot of mileage.I should note that there are a few work-arounds if demands are light, or you don't want to spring for an expensive tool. In some projects, socket-head cap screws (with fender washers in the bigger holes) may be perfectly adequate, and I have heard of people grinding down a deep-well or even deforming the strut to pass a tool (ouch). In my case, I've wrestled larger bolts with an end wrench, but that doesn't give much leverage.Note that if you use the larger hardware that this enables, somebody in the future wanting to take it apart may curse the previous owner's name for requiring a special tool. Worth that risk, to do it right....This socket is beautiful steel, made very well - definitely not a cheapie. It is now a permanent resident of my socket drawer...

Perfect for my Honda Odyssey oil change
I have started doing my own oil changes, and the oil drain plug for my 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan is 17mm. This socket fits perfectly, and it feels really durable. I've used it a couple oil changes now, and overall, Im quite satisified.

Made my life significantly easier on a recent job
Working on strut is its own special experience, and even when you're familiar with it there's always something to complicate things. On a recent job, this channel socket saved me a significant amount of time and effort, as bolts had to go up from the inside of the strut in order to make the assembly work. Usually, there's more than one way to tackle a bolt-up, but in this case, clearances were limiting and if I hadn't had this handy socket on-hand as a just-in-case tool, I would have been struggling with pliers to try to immobilize the bolt heads while tightening things up. Several folks noticed me breezing through those sections with ease and asked me how I'd done so, and it's always fun to brag on an unusual or handy kind of tool, so I expect a few more of these will be finding their way into toolboxes shortly. This may not be a tool you use all that often, but it will be one you'll be glad you have available if you ever have to deal with Unistrut.
