It worked for me.
The product did the job of reducing the humidity to a level that eliminated the recurrence of surface corrosion on the carbon steel items inside of my safe. I was surprised by the rust that occurred on the aluminum can until I examined the product details with a fine tooth comb. After repeatedly stating that it is aluminum, they state that it is in fact made of iron. It looks like it has a light coating of zinc but it didn't stay shiny for long. After three months the desiccant was green so I tried the oven activation procedure first. Maybe we have moisture in the gas line because it wouldn't return to the original color. So, while it was cooling down to go into the trash bag I looked at the product reviews to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Another user had success using the microwave (15 minutes on defrost). What I did, since it was already warm, was put it into a microwave safe bowl and nuke it for 5 minutes at a time stirring it between cycles in order to help release the steam. This did the job and after the third 5 minute cycle it was back to orange again. While it was cooling I cleaned off the majority of the surface rust from the can and sprayed it with a light coating of primer. I bought two of these so I could rotate them and had already placed the new one in the safe. As an experiment, I wiped it down with gun oil.We will see if that preserves the shine.

Jury is still out but okay after a month
**update** the canister is completely rusted. Got it for the the look...I bought this product for a 33-foot boat. I figured I would be pushing the limits of the product but I liked the look of the canister and figured I'd try it over other methods to keep the moisture out. After a month things seem to have stayed dry in the boat however is time to reactivate them which I am going to try now for the first time. The other unfortunate thing is the canister is already starting to corrode and we are not even in a humid season yet. I may come back and change my rating after the second use. Is beginning to get humid now and I suspect it will not last another month and I may not like the look so much if it continues to rust as fast as it is

Works well for its intended purpose, but canister rusts!
This works well to bring the humidity down in my gun safe. I've had it for several months and the humidity has not been higher than about 27%.However, as many other reviewers have commented, the canister itself is pretty cheap steel (not stainless) and will start to rust from the outside in. It's kind of easily been avoided for manufacturer use stainless steel or aluminum instead, but it shows how cheap the product really is.If I were to go back before purchasing this, I would have went with a nicer looking plastic alternative.

Absorbs moisture but the blue color transfers onto things, be careful about using w/o the container.
Removes moisture and turned blue after absorbing moisture. The blue color transferred onto items I was trying to dry out. Permanently stained. Keep the beads inside the container, cook them in the oven to dry them out. I haven't tried re-dehydrating them, still kinda mad that they stained my stuff. I purchased a dessicant orange/blue silica beads in a metal container years ago that works well, this seems to be a different product trying to look like the good one I purchased in person at a retail store.

Exactly what I was looking for
I do really like this item. It really is a 5 star item, but I held back on one point. The mesh that allows the exchange of moisture to the silica gels drops is a bit thin and can buckle or bend if you are not careful. This did not happen to me, but I wish the metal mesh was a gauge thicker.Remember people you can put the gel dots in a glass or metal pan and put it in an oven for an hour at 450 and reuse it.

Has an expiration date.
Upon receipt of the product, I noticed a set of dates on it. A manufactured date (MFG.) and an expiration (EXP.) date. I have gleaned that this has a product warranty period. I could not find much information on the manufacturer's website. The MFG. date on mine were Aug 25, 2018. I received them on March 12, 2019. They expire on Aug. 24, 2019. Basically, I was sold something that was sold to me at more than half it's surety life. Not OK.Having said that, it is apparently working silently and invisibly protecting my valuable stuff. I have yet to test its ability to recharge. We shall see...

Not aluminum, but not bad.
Not a bad product, however it is advertised falsely as aluminum and itโs more of a mild steel, at best.Prior to purchasing this I saw rusting as a common issue, so proactively I threw on a light coat of WD40 and wiped off any excess before use. So far there is no rusting on the unit. After a few months my beads changed green and am in the process of recharging them. Not bad for the price.

Seems to rust quickly
I got this to travel in a road case with electronics. It seems to do the job collecting moisture and holding it, but the container itself has rusted pretty quickly.

BEWARE : Cannot be reactivated
1) It's clearly written on the box that this dissicant cannot be reactivated. It's written that once the orange beads become green, they must be discarded and replaced.2) The seller is advertising the can as being made from aluminium. But it's not. It's made from tin that can rust. Aluminium is non-magnetic and rustproof. Tin is magnetic and rust easily.Do NOT buy this dissicant! Please give my review a LIKE ! :-)
