Best vest tor a tall hunter
My Brittanys and I cover a lot of miles chasing grouse, woodcock, quail and pheasant. After my dogs, I count my gun, boots and vest as my most important pieces of equipment. When my beloved Columbia vest needed to be replaced after 10+ years of quality service, I spent a lot of time researching replacements and purchased the top four to compare. They include the Tenzing BV16 Upland Vest Tenzing 962208 BV16 Upland Vest, Blaze Orange , the Badlands Upland Bird Vest Badlands Upland Bird Vest, 20 x 36 x 12-Inch) , the Browning Bird'n Lite Strap Vest Browning Bird'n Lite Strap Vest, Khaki/Blaze, X-Large - XX-Large and the L.L. Bean Technical Upland Vest Pack. I tested each of them all with a full load of shells, weights, a water bladder and my Garmin Alpha. In the end, this vest was my top pick, the L.L. Bean was a close second, the Browning a distant third and the Badlands a distant last. This vest is extremely comfortable, lightweight, and is well-constructed from quality materials. It has an integrated pouch for a hydration bladder and enough room for birds and gear. The bird pouch isn't all that big but can be loaded from the front and will hold 2-3 pheasants. The pack has load adjusting straps that keep everything close to your back and large hip pockets for shells or other gear you need to keep close at hand. The pockets close securely with velcro. I wasn't sure I wanted velcro pockets here but after trying the snap pockets on the Browning vest and the magnetic closure on the Badlands vest, velcro is clearly the way to go. The radio pouches on the front of the hip pockets look handy but aren't big enough for a Garmin Alpha and I wouldn't trust any of my gear in them. Similarly, the outermost pocket on the back isn't really useful for me and is held in place with elastic string that seems likely to hang up in brush or barbed wire.So why is this the vest I'm keeping? This vest set itself apart by being the "tallest" of the bunch. The pack comes in two sizes and has a second set of loops for the hip belt that allows it to get 3" longer than the next tallest pack. This made it the most comfortable on my 6'4" frame. If I were a few inches shorter, I'd probably have gone with the L.L. Bean vest and their lifetime satisfaction guarantee. This vest carries just a two year warranty. Assuming it holds up, though, this vest and I will spend many miles together.

Well Made, Well Designed, Small Complaint
Okay, have not hunted with it yet but it fits great and like all the design features. Only small complaint is the small front pouches for items - they could have been a little larger as coupld have been the two mesh pockets - too small for my controller or radio. The back pouch . . . good enough for maybe 6 pheasants. So far so good. Love the suspension, and the water bladder and while it does not have a water bottle pouch, I can put a 3rd party pouch on the belt.--Okay used the vest and it performed as well as expected. Kept weight off the shoulders and onto the waist, I stuffed 7 roosters in there. Water bottle pouches . . .nope, but I simply put water bottles for the Brittany hunting machine in the pouch, problem solved. Like the secure pocket for wallet, keys, phone. The e-collar controller fits in the front pouch. Had plenty of room for snacks (mine and hers) as well a a place to jam my heavy shirt when it warmed up. I bumped this up a star to 5 because with a a little imagination, the few small shortcomings are overcome.--Have now used this vest maybe 30 times and it is my go to vest. The only problem I see in the future is if the foam degrades. We'll cross that one if we get there. Overall, this is a great vest.

Money well spent
Thus is my second purchase of this product as I liked mine so much that I bought one for my fiance as she now joins me afield with our bird dog. Over the past 4 years I have hunted my original purchased vest through some really harsh upland bird hunting environments that many of my other vests did not survive and truthfully this looks no worse for wear after the 4 years! ... plenty of pockets for all things needed in the field as well as ample adjustments to center loads properly for long days of walking. If you want a high quality product that you will not have to replace anytime soon this is it!!

Sturdy well built pack/vest.
The pack/vest is a little heavy but it is well built and appears to be holding up to hunting conditions. It is adjustable and comfortable. There are several handy pockets and shells do not fall out. So far I am very happy with this purchase.

Lightweight and durable
Very light weight. Quality materials and good overall design with tons of storage. Should last many years out in the field.

Great vest/pack
This thing is well made and very comfortable. I always tend to carry way to much in the field. I have this vest loaded down and can wear it all day no problem. My only criticism is I wish it had a dedicated pouch for a water bottle. I generally carry a bladder in it but I like to have a bottle for my dog. Also- I purchased the XL version as I am 6’2” 270lbs. I wish I would have ordered the m/l as the xl is winched down as tight as it goes on me (which is about perfect) but is just a touch on the long side. I would prefer from pockets to ride a little higher so not to interfere with my legs as I high step through the tall stuff. Not a problem with the product, just know the XL IS MASSIVE. Other than that this is a great product.

Durability
Impressive. This item is very well put together. Spaceus pockets.. shot shell loops on either side of waste pockets..Can easily put game birds in the back meshed carrier without taking the vest off. There are two hydro ports at the upper level at the shoulder and a area to allow the hydro pack in the back..Large area to put extra clothing as the day gets warm during your activities.Highly recommended for sportsman that specialize in upland bird hunting.Adjustable straps to fit your outer clothing and strong durable fasteners. There are two waste straps to help with your gear Adjustment.

Great vest -except for one thing
Good vest for storage and access to shells. The only problem is the small water bottle carriers in front of the front pockets on each side are useless. They will only take very small bottles and do not have a draw string to hold the bottles in so your leg movements can push the bottles out. I picked up two large bottle carries and added them to the outside of the vest for carrying water for my dog.

Functional vest
Product is built well, I always carry more than I need to and this thing held it all. Collars , transmitter, gps , lead,Water bottle , ammo, first aid kit, wire cutters, wallet, keys and spare layer plus some Sodak roosters. Belt system does run big but like most outdoor gear is built for ppl with a bit of a burger locker on them. I had it mostly cinched down with a sweatshirt under neath. (34 waist)The vest fits comfortably and because of the adjustable waist straps supports a full vest of gear and birds. Only down side is that it gets a bit warm on the back since it is essentially a backpack. Material is noisy so did not work out as a duel purpose big game/ upland set up.

Good, but both clips broke first day
Like the design and it is comfortable. Unfortunately both water bladder clips broke the first day with very little impact.
