As somebody with a visual impairment, the fact that this device has no screen doesn’t bother me. Nor does the price. I realize that some people may balk at the $79 per year asking price for the pro plan. As somebody who has historically had to rely on specialist devices for the blind that cost easily $500, even with that $79 per year plan, this thing is a bargain. While I am giving it five stars, there is something I should make note of. I have enough usable vision where I don’t necessarily need to use speech all the time. Thus, for my needs, the device app is more than adequate. However, for those that do use speech all the time, and might be considering this, I should warn you that the apps accessibility with the VoiceOver screen reader on the iPhone is passable, but you’ll need to sit down and learn it because not everything is labeled properly. Nor are you able to navigate your summary by headings. The mind map is an inaccessible image with no alt text. These are suggestions that I’ve passed along to the development team and since it’s on the software side, these things could be easily implemented overtime, so let’s hope that they get implemented. For those of you who are wondering if it is worth the cost? My personal belief is that it is because this way you will save wear and tear on your phone’s battery, you won’t have to worry about constantly monitoring your screen to make sure the phone doesn’t go to sleep, plus the ChatGPT transcription features are superior to what Apple Intelligence does, especially when it comes to the summary. The device itself is really awesome. It’s about the size of two credit cards and at the very top is a concave round button to the left of which is a vertically oriented two position switch. That two position switch is what will swap between regular note dictation mode and phone call dictation mode The button is utilized to start and stop recordings. Beyond that, everything else is done in the app. On the back, and you might need to find it, at the bottom, you will find an oval with four round circles in it. This is your charging port. To make things easier to find I would highly recommend putting it in the included leather case. Another really neat feature about the case is the fact that it can magnetically clip to the back of your phone using MagSafe. The battery in this thing is incredible and so far the summarization through chat, GPT has been fantastic. I plan to use this at a conference in a couple of months and I’ve already used it at a webinar for my work. I really hope the development continues on this because this is very promising. Keep up the good work. :-)

I can only say great things about this device. I bought it to be able to not have to take notes during my meetings and instead have automated notes, summaries, and interact with my information through AI. The Plaud device does all that! Recording is simple, just push a button and you're recording. You can export the audio or analyze it and work with it on the Plaud app. You can use different templates to process your summaries, set speaker labels, and it detects language. It's phenomenal. The desktop app even starts recording Zoom calls' audio automatically. The device is light - the holder is sleek and looks great. It charges super fast, and the charge lasts at least a full day of recording. Technical support is superb. These guys have their act together and make sure that you are satisfied as a customer. I really feel valued by them. I just ordered a new one.

Fantastic daily tool now. You can record your thoughts while walking for exercise, and then once syncs at home, you have all your draft ideas for work or writings or anything are instantly organized, and intelligently summarized with headings, subheadings, and an "observer's" point of view of what you said. The app for Plaud opens on my PC. I can then copy it into One Note, and then find my thoughts by word search. It is an indispensable daily tool so I can have less stress writing cryptic notes for reminders. It is worth the money. I do have the small clip on version. I lost the clip, and now it is just 10% useful. So I bought this one, and its increased size is better. I put a Apple tracker on the leather case, and if I cannot find it, my Iphone will find it. So far it is big enough, and I keep it near my Android phone which is the one I sync with to free up my Iphone. It does help to have a free phont to do all the syncing. Great value for the money.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the PLAUD Note. The recorder itself is compact, easy to use, and the AI transcription and summaries work surprisingly well. It's become a valuable tool for meetings and keeping track of important conversations. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the subscription requirement. I wish more of the AI features were included with the purchase instead of requiring an ongoing monthly fee. For a product at this price point, it would be nice to have more functionality available without a subscription. That said, it's still an excellent device, and if you don't mind the subscription costs, it does exactly what it's designed to do.

The transcription on this device is so good that it’s frightening in some ways. I use it to meet with students over the phone now. I just tell them that I’m recording the call and they don’t mind. The transcription, even though it works by vibration, is still Almost perfect. I think the scariest part overall is that I’m really not certain where my data lives. I don’t know if this is a downside or whatever but the language they use about starter plan and quota could be very confusing. There is also not really a guarantee about if they’ll continue the “starter plan“ for any period of time. Like, they can just stop doing it one day and force the purchasers of this to pay a monthly fee if they want to continue to have transcription. That is a little scary. Also, the term quota doesn’t quite make sense to me in the context in which they use it. I do like the idea, though that I can buy 6000 minutes for $80 and use them whenever my starter plan minutes run out for two years. So as it stands now, I feel like it’s a great value. The transcriptions and summaries are amazing.

I’m an intake specialist for the legal department for a municipality and this device has changed my life. Yes, the recorder is great, easy to use, and picks up conversations well. The most amazing part of this device, however, is the transcription service. The old school way was to go through and listen to the recording and stop every five seconds and type what the person says. It would take up the majority of my day. With this device, however, the transcription is done in under a minute. It’s accurate, and even separates the people speaking. You can export the transcription to a pdf, word, or txt file. I could go on and on, but this thing is totally worth it. Yes, you have to subscribe if you transcribe over 300 minutes a month, but it’s still worth it. It has literally saved me hours of work. My boss is going to buy one for every person in our department… it’s that great.

The controls could be better. Lots of times I swear I activated and then get home to find no notes. Also, this was a premature purchase. Whisperflow does the same thing - and if you have a better model iPhone, the microphones are as good if not better and instead of paying for a device and subscription, could have essentially the same set up without being tied to hardware that may eventually die or become obsolete. Great concept, but we all need to be smarter about adopting any AI tech/hardware with how fast these things are evolving. We're very much all beta testers right now for new tech.

Plaud Is Life Changing!! Like a lot of people I bought Plaud in a recent Prime Day promotion as I wanted to see if it would help me in meetings. Nothing special in that I hear you say. But there’s the rub. I can’t hear everything that is said in meetings as I am deaf and wear hearing aids. I attended a meeting late evening. I was tired and I knew I was not picking everything up. But I tried out my Plaud Note in the wild for the first time. And I was blown away. The upload of the recording and making it into a summary of the meeting is just fantastic. Wow!! For deaf people this is an absolute game changer. It picked up everything. Now my issue is that Plaud has just gone and released the snazzy new Plaud Pro. Will I pre order it? You can bet your boots i will. I now consider it as important as my hearing aids. AI is a game changer in recording voice notes. I am still learning the ropes of using the Plaud Note. But wow. I am stunned. The Plaud Note Pro will raise the bar even higher.
