Antarctica (Usborne Beginners)

Great Book, perfect for my Reception child who is learning about penguins. It’s nicely laid out and contains just the right amount of information written perfectly for younger readers. The pictures are lovely too. It’s importnat for children to explore factual books as well and this certainly ticks that box. I also bought the Antarctica book which is good too. Will be buying more from this collection of books in the future as and when the topics are covered at school.

I bought this book for my year 1 topic on Antarctica and was not disappointed. It is a fab little fact book, clearly written and illustrated . A perfect introduction to reading fact books. There is a lovely little glossary at the back. It is great for the children to research independently. Will be looking out for more books for future topics.

Great book with lots of info for kids

Perfect for kids. We used this for my daughters homework (aged 7). She enjoyed reading this and learning about life in Antarctic. There isn’t too much text and the pictures also aided her learning.

This is a good beginning book to discuss the continent of Antarctica. They have just enough information about the animals the topography of the continent that a 4yr old can assimilate mentally.

I cannot tell you how much I love the Usborne Beginners series. I am an elementary school teacher and I am always on the prowl for books that excite my children to read. These books have wonderful color photos with simple explanations. The words are chosen very carefully to enable even the struggling reader a chance to enjoy the information. Each two pages revolve around one main idea and its details. The content is engaging and prompts my students to think and ask questions. Boys especially respond to expository text versus narrative books. I would (and do already) recommend the entire series to everyone.

I love the entire Usborne series. Especially good for a science-minded kid. My son (5) loves them and we have about 20. They are a good value, and never get old. I've learned a thing or 2 also.
