InstaFire is a VERY easy way to get a fire going, however, I have to agree with other reviewers that resealable packaging would be convenient. The product itself, though, is great.

THIS WORKS AMAZINGLY. Anybody ever seen a fire glow so hot it turned WHITE?! This thing does the job. I was out in West Texas where it was a bit windy and it had rained the night before on my camping firewood so I added this stuff here to help aid in getting the fire lit. It was taking a minute so after adding a whole bag of this stuff, I added another half a bag. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING MORE THAN ONE BAG. The fire lit. it was gorgeous. It was hot as hades wife - got so hot it started glowing white/silver. It made for a beautiful fire. I would recommend if you use this stuff though be very well prepared with sand, a couple buckets of water or access to a hose because you need to make sure this is without a doubt before you walk away. My friend and I walked away after we thought it was out. Long story short we have a plastic chair thats completely melted now. hahaha.

This stuff works exactly as advertised. I received a packet as a gift, so I threw it in my camp gear and forgot about it. This last week I went on an overland trip. My first night camping I found this stuff and thought I’d give it a try. I put a small pile of it on the ground, built my fire over it, and lit the stuff. It light immediately with one match, no issues at all. In less than 5 minutes, my fire was burning well. I used it the next 4 nights until it was gone. I was traveling in Oregon and some of the wood I gathered was not well seasoned, but this stuff got it going. One night on a whim I struck sparks into the Instafire with a ferro rod. It lit right up. I just ordered 30 pouches of this stuff. You will not find a better product to effortlessly light a camp fire. No paper, no shavings, no splitting logs into kindling. This product has some negative reviews ranging from doesn’t burn long to claiming it doesn’t work at all. It is not for burning as the fuel source. It burns about 5 ~ 10 minutes to get the wood ignited. Reading is fundamental, reading instructions is even more so. All I can figure is that those people got a defective pack, or should not be allowed to play with things that burn in the first place.
