The Tactical Training Laser - O-Ring Cartridge for .45 ACP is a cutting-edge training tool designed for serious shooters. Compatible with various online apps and training systems, it provides instant feedback with a bright red dot to indicate impact points. The cartridge features a rubber snap cap for safe dry firing and is available in two types. With a power output of under 5mW and a wavelength of 650nm, this laser cartridge is perfect for honing your skills in a safe and effective manner.

Spot on
I use a small amount of oil on the o-rings and this is dead on, lights every time. It is identical, as far as I can tell, compared to the others I have that are $10 more cost. The batteries last a long time and are also very affordable. ~3000 shots, and this unit is going strong.

Great concept but will eventually break on you..
I love my laser training system (laser targets/laser bullet) and I use it daily, but it bugs me that the end caps on these things are not reliable at all.. Sure it'll last you a couple months without issue, but it will certainly eventually fail you, and when it does, you are expected to pay for the replacement/end cap. 20-30$ after shipping (depending on sale or retail price), so why not just buy a new one..? If these were under a warranty and I didn't have to buy replacements twice a year, it'd be a 5 star product easy.

Helps retain skills when cost of live ammo prohibits range-based training
The question of battery life is still up in the air, as I’ve only had this training tool a bit over a week, and logged only about 500 simulated rounds fired.Accuracy is difficult to judge as the laser spot is dependent upon my ability to pull the trigger without jerking/flinching or anticipating the shot — which are some of the bad habits this additional training is intended to address. I suppose if I had a red dot aim point that was zeroed to my weapon I would have a better feel for the accuracy, but I figure if the spot hits the target board within 1 MoA of where I am aiming (with iron sights), within the given range of my training area (typically less than 15 meters) then an intruder/home invader intent on harming me/my family, or depriving us or our property, will be just as incapacitated (remember to aim center mass!).Obviously, “value for money” is a given (imho). At current prices for ammunition (ranging anywhere from $0.70-$2.00+ per shot), being able to put literally hundreds (perhaps thousands) of laser spots on a target proves the “value for money” question. If a box of 50 rounds costs $35-$100+, then the value for this type of training is clear (again, imho), but let me be equally clear that this type of training is not intended to be stand-alone — range time with live rounds is still necessary, albeit (and unfortunately) with longer time spans between range visits (at least until the cost and availability of ammunition gets closer to pre-pandemic levels).Pro:- works well with the Mantis Laser Academy app (likely works with others I haven’t tried yet).- allows for safe(er) “shoot-and-move” or “movement-to-contact” training that most (indoor) ranges prohibit due to the liability issues.- allows you to train in the area(s) in which you may be most likely to stage your home defensive position(s), thereby enhancing your “home advantage” (i.e., you can gain a better perspective of where you can and can’t shoot to protect yourself and your family).Cons:- not sure if this is just me/my weapon, or a manufacturing defect, but the rubber boot covering the laser activation button formed a permanent divot where the firing pin strikes. I’m hopeful this will not have a detrimental impact on the life of the tool.Happy (and safe) training, and hope to see you back on the range sooner rather than later!

This works with all those training apps
My favorite training app has become LaserHIT simply because it works with this and doesn't require a special target. LaserHIT says that this thing is accurate and it makes it fun to shoot. When selecting the type of module in LaserHIT, I can use the official one and not the "slow" one which means this laser module has a great response time. The other nice thing is that this is durable - the firing pin hasn't broken the switch on the back yet.Do be aware that this is rimless - you will need a rod to gently tap it out when you're done your training.

Great concept, but isn't repeatable
This does appear to be well made...time will tell how the switch holds up. I lubed the o-rings lightly with white lithium grease and the laser cartridge chambered easily. So far it's flashed every time, maybe 75 "shots" or so. My only gripe so far is that it doesn't seem to be repeatable or accurate. Holding steady against something and firing single action, it might be dead on at 20 feet. Or it might hit several inches high and to the left. Or it might be several inches low and to the right. I don't think my trigger pull/aim is THAT inconsistent!I've heard some folks question the safety aspect of "firing" indoors, but with some common sense administrative routines ( putting the magazine and cartridge in another room) I think it's a great concept to improve our draw and aiming.

Highly instrumental and cost effective
The CheapShot tactical training laser is well worth the purchase at a reasonable price. I included (2) CheapShot laser targets as well, which I place at different distances and elevations. Using .45 rounds means burning the dollars just on one indoor range shooting session. I can maintain my marksman skills with great margins of safety and accuracy without putting big holes on my wallet. Using this device enables me to experiment with different shooting styles, positions, draws, etc. minus the risks in indoor ranges using real rounds where they enforce limitations of what you can/can't do for good reasons. Most importantly, I can rehearse my quick draw, aim, and trigger squeeze in the privacy of my home as well as train others, especially, first timers safely and effectively. I purchased another laser cartridge with a light up target for my shooting buddy, and she absolutely loves it! So far, so good! It won't replace real bullets and range fires, but it's definitely one great tool in maintaining your skills. I watch TV and shoot away during commercials.

quality option for practice
The laser dot is very bright so far and the literature indicates 3000 shots per set of batteries. Time will tell. The cartridge was a bit loose in the chamber at the back causing slight inaccuracy due to extractor tension against the cartridge. I contacted the company and John suggested using a bit of tape on the cartridge to tighten it up. I did so on the rear of the cartridge and put a thicker o-ring on the front. The fit is very tight in the chamber now and the accuracy is dead-on. I am very pleased using this with a 1911 and a cz97. Excellent accuracy at 21 ft. I may try longer distances. Works well with iTargetPro app.
