I have a litter box in the basement to keep away from our dog. That means that I don't necessarily get around to scooping out as often as I should. (Out of sight, out of mind...)These bags have changed my life. They fit our large high sided cat litter box. Now I can buy the cheap litter and simply toss it out. The bags are heavy duty so I haven't had any issues with the cats tearing into them.

Hey, so my cats love to dig to the bottom of the litter, pee, then cover it up. I thought the cardboard would stop them from clawing through—which it did—but since my cats kept peeing directly onto the cardboard, it broke down. Then it started tearing up either by my cats’ claws, or from the auto litter rake (which it definitely tore it up more each swipe). I was disappointed to be honest. My solution? Duct tape. I duct tape the cardboard now before I lay it down. They can’t claw through it, and it is waterproof so it is unaffected by them peeing directly on it. My kitties have their front claws and without the cardboard (I did try), they just cut up the bag which made having it useless. Just wanted everyone to have a heads up. Also the bag doesn’t tie shut the whole way, so I wrap the tie around the opening and tie it up extra tight so I don’t worry about it as I walk it to the dumpster.

The only issue I have with them is that, despite their heavy-duty label, my cat's scratching and heavy litter can occasionally cause them to tear. Although it's not always the case, this is something to be aware of. It's not a deal breaker. To keep things fresh, I found that the liners retained odors better than I had anticipated, so I had to change them frequently. In general, they produce the litter and do what they are meant to.
