MOMO Motorsport Prototipo Steering Wheel Black Leather Grip Black Anodized Spoke White Stitching 350mm

Fits great on my 86 Porsche 911. Easy install. I bought a $20 Porsche crest center button for the horn, but it did not fit, so I suggest spending the extra money on a good one. The steering wheel came with a Momo center button, so I used it and am happy with it. I also purchased the Momo steering L231 Steering Wheel adapter. I think it is required for the installation but double check. I've had my 911 for 19 years and can't believe how great this steering wheel feels in my hands compared to the stock steering wheel. It has changed my driving experience immensely, and I wish I had purchased it sooner.

I just installed the Momo Prototipo yesterday and I have not had a chance to drive the car yet so I cannot give any "driving" impressions. However, here are some thoughts about the quality of the wheel and the difficulty/ease of installation.I love the aesthetic qualities of this wheel. The design is a simple tri-spoke. The wheel is flat so there is no dish. The horn button is small and simple but ultimately serves its function. The "Prototipo" engraving is appropriate and not overwhelming. The leather is expertly wrapped around the wheel. You can see the seams on the back side of the wheel where the leather is glued but the glue job is smooth and clean. You can tell it is hand-sewn because the stitches are not perfectly straight. That might bother some but for me it's just fine. Finally, the combination of Momo steering wheel and steering hub are noticeably lighter than my stock steering wheel.The installation was extremely simple since I do not have an airbag in my 1987 BMW e28 535is. The install took about 10 - 15 minutes. I just cranked my wheels straight ahead. I marked the forward position on the steering spindle with a pen and then I lined up the steering hub which has a position marker labeled "Top". Then it was just 6 allen bolts to lock the wheel to the hub 7 nm (torque spec), followed by tightening the steering column spindle nut to secure the steering hub to the steering column spindle. Finally, I connected a single black wire from the steering hub to the back of the horn and there is a brass spring that contacts the hub to serve as the ground. Presto and done!

This is a to my eyes a genuine Momo wheel. If you look at the instructions in the box you will see that the allen screws, hub and horn ring must be purchased separately as per the norm for Momo. A horn button is included however.

Installed the Momo Prototipo along with an NRG short hub and quick release in my 2006 Jeep TJ and I couldn’t be happier. The overall quality of the steering wheel is very high and the fit and finish of the materials are great. The wheel is smaller and much lighter than the stock one I replaced.I’m glad I went with Momo and not some cheap knock off.Definitely worth my money.

Especially if you have an older car with no airbag, stepping up to a Momo wheel is a great upgrade. The wheel is just the right thickness and the leather is grippy. This model is particularly well suited to air-cooled Porsches since Porsche race cars like 904s sported them back in the day. Easy to install. I paired mine with a spacer that pushes the wheel up and out a bit, for a more comfortable reach.

Phenomenal feeling wheel. I absolutely love the way it looks and the smaller diameter made my 1993 240sx steering feel so much tighter. Highly highly recommend this wheel. It has a timeless design and being a picky person that likes simplicity, my only other consideration was the Monte Carlo. You won't regret buying!

As others have said - this came missing horn button, horn button retainer ring and, installation hardware...Either that needs to be resolved on the vendor side, or the product description needs to be updated.ADD HORN BUTTON, RETAINER RING AND HARDWARE TO YOUR ORDER BEFORE CHECKING OUT.

The steering wheel itself is amazing its super comfortable and the price is perfectly fine. The one issue I had was that it did not come with the center cap/horn button and horn plate. So I was forced to reuse the previous owners rose gold plate and it looks terrible in my car. If you guys could send me the horn plate and button this would easily be 100% 5 stars

Great wheel for a great price. Obviously a genuine MOMO with no flex etc.Regarding the negative comments on missing hardware. To me, when looking at the included instructions, it's quite obvious that the parts people are missing are actually included with an additional boss hub kit, not the wheel itself which is sold in this listing. People are complaining about something they did not buy.

The quality of the stitching, the gripiness of the leather, the strength of the construction, all are PERFECT. I used a Momo hub to install it as well, so it was pretty painless, only taking 15 minutes or so start to finish. Be aware, most Momo wheels DO NOT come with the metal ring to attach your horn wiring negative side to, and the same ring holds the horn button, so if you do not use a Momo hub (which DOES come with these things), you will need to source them separately. I initially was going to use some NRG products for that, but found it wouldn't work for this reason. That being said, the Momo hub was cheaper anyway, and actually fit the exact form factor I was going for anyway, so it ended up perfectly for me!Having looked at the cheap knock off wheels you can get (including NRG wheels which are not "really" knock offs but "budget alternatives"), they all have an alarming amount of flex, and some can literally be torn apart with your bare hands. That is not a problem with Momo wheels, since they appear to be one piece metal construction, then wrapped in leather or suede.So it seems pricey, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Think of it the same way you think of buying a new mattress: When you're driving, there are two things you should not skimp on, tires being the most important, and the steering wheel (and other direct interfaces like shift knobs) being the second since you are literally holding it the whole time you're driving. Only Nardi/Personal or OMP wheels have this same level of quality, and Nardi is aimed at a different crowd, having few options for "style" (retro is your only choice), and OMP is more competition-focused it seems. Any of those are a good choice, so it's up to your own aesthetic preferences and needs. For me, I could not be happier with my Prototipo.
