Q: Can this be plugged into the lower wall outlet instead of the top one? I want to leave the top one open.

This extender can be plugged into the lower wall outlet. However, in this case, the upper plug will be partially blocked, and is unusable.

If u turn it sideways, and then plug multiple plugs in it, the unit becomes unstable. If there is any kind of movement while the plug is in the wall socket and turned sideways, the movement could cause the plugs to wobble this causing sparks to fly.
