These have been through a year of storms, a few tornadoes and winter and have gave no problems. Easy to use from the app. Definitely worth it for outside (or inside) lighting

I bought these lights in October 2025 after seeing all the glowing reviews and convincing myself the premium price meant premium quality. Initially, they looked great and worked exactly as expected.Unfortunately, it turns out I wasn’t buying permanent outdoor lighting. I was apparently signing up for a temporary lighting subscription.One entire strand has now snapped in THREE different places. Not one break. Not an accident. Three separate failures on the same strand.For what these cost, I expected durability and longevity. Instead, I’m left looking at lights that seem to have given up long before they should have. The fact that they’re expensive makes the quality issues even harder to overlook.I rarely write reviews because I generally assume products will either work or quietly fail without requiring a public statement. However, I would have appreciated seeing a review from someone who had owned these for more than a few months before I spent this kind of money.The lights are beautiful when they’re working, which is why this isn’t a one-star review. But if you’re paying a premium price because you expect a premium product, just know that my experience suggests these lights may be better at making a first impression than lasting the long haul.

This is my 1st purchase of these lights. I purchased a few sets of atomi smart led a few years earlier so I can make a small comparison between those 2 companies.Atomi - heavier lights so they seem more durable. Never had one go out. These hung year round on my front porch. With the color themes I could change per season/holiday/event.The wire was heavy gauge. Make it good for durability but hanging was more of an issue. Thick like a pencil.The app was acceptable given the use but could use improvements. Kind if easy to have a timer or scene setting.The biggest issue. Connection to them was and is a pain in the ass. The 1st sets I wad able to connect after calling customer service. Worked great after that. NEEDS the lower wifi band. (2.8 I think it was) the higher band it didn't work. I have extenders and that had the band needed. I moved not long ago and tried to reconnect to the new router. Will not connect no matter what. I've tried everything but calling again.Long ago I had an issue and called. The company sent a full set to replace. I just opened to try then out and the bulb housing is smaller. Not able to purchase this lights again made me look at govee. The new set connected immediately when I 1st plugged in. So I have manual sets, all 3 and 1 that works wifi. Pointless.... currently these are unavailable.GOVEE - Smaller lightweight bulbs. They are BRIGHT. When I first plugged them in it didn't seem so great. Thats because the default was set to 60%. Nearly blinded myself turning them up.The wires are thin. Almost like Christmas lights that were coated with a rubber that made it a little thicker.The app. Oh the glorious app. I couldn't believe the control. You can select EACH light and change the color. Plenty of pre programmed scenes. My neighbors must have wondered what was going on since I was playing with the colors and scenes for 30 min and still had more to go. There's a music setting so the sound will trigger the lights to strobe. Someone had fireworks going off so it was a fun time to try.The "down side" was the plastic clips to hang the strands. Took a little time and measuring to keep them even. That's also the upside. You can make them short or longer pending preference.Given both companies I'd stay with Govee. Price and app were the best parts.24 feet of atomi were about $8096 feet of Govee was. About $100I'll try some more with the govee and edit later should I remember to come back.EDIT: still glad I purchased these. I'm asked about them all the time.

Got these as a very delayed replacement for a cheaper set that ultimately failed after getting my house soft washed. They weren’t “smart lights” and had very minimal functionality. There’s about 1/2 the number of bulbs in this kit than I had before, but they have much higher capacity of brightness, colors, and options. At night, I only keep the brightness around 5-10% since it is an enclosed space and routinely very dark otherwise.Since it was a swap, I already had hook hardware up, so install was easy and straightforward. I have a 50’ set surrounding the interior of my patio. Length is spot on. All elements are above the screen line, tucked away from direct weather to reduce the chance of excessive exposure from storms, especially since the previous Walmart set failed so quickly after water intrusion.The only thing I wish I could do was lessen the length of power wiring since the beginning of the line was right where the power supply is located.

I purchased these Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights for my backyard, and they have completely transformed the atmosphere of the space. The lighting quality is excellent, and the RGBIC effects make the colors look vibrant, smooth, and much more customizable compared to standard outdoor string lights. One of my favorite features is the ability to control everything directly through the Govee app, which makes changing colors, brightness, scenes, and schedules extremely convenient. The app setup process was straightforward, and the lights connected quickly without any frustrating setup issues. I also really appreciate the wide variety of scene modes because it allows me to switch between relaxing warm lighting, colorful holiday themes, or more energetic effects depending on the occasion. The brightness level is impressive as well, providing plenty of illumination for patios, outdoor gatherings, or evening relaxation without being too harsh. The build quality feels durable and weather-resistant, and the lights have held up very well through rain, humidity, and changing outdoor conditions. Another feature I enjoy is the compatibility with Alexa and smart home controls, which makes it easy to adjust the lighting using voice commands when entertaining guests or relaxing outside. The bulbs themselves look modern and attractive, and the overall setup gives the backyard a very clean and upscale appearance at night. Overall, these are some of the best outdoor string lights I’ve owned, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to add customizable smart lighting and a more enjoyable atmosphere to their outdoor space.

This is at least the 4th Govee product I have purchased. I’ve used their temperature sensors, twin spotlights, and other lighting products. I just want to say that the customer service I have received has been stellar. For this particular purchase, the 144’ strings lights, one of the 3 strings did not work. I contacted Govee and went through the troubleshooting process with them. Once all attempts failed, they immediately sent me a completely new, 3 string replacement set and did not require me to return the faulty one. The same applied to other items I had purchased throughAmazon. They were definitely out of warranty when they stopped working, but by contacting Govee directly and following their troubleshooting, the same thing happened…they sent me brand new items. Out of warranty! They do stand behind their products. Are the products 100 percent perfect? No. Mostly they are fine, but if you receive a product that doesn’t meet your expectations, just take the time to contact them rather than criticizing the company. You won’t be sorry.

I set these up on my gazebo. I enjoy the "scenes". You can choose any color or group of colors, and you can change how fast they flicker. I like the app, I find it works well. It does keep saying its disconnected from the lights, but then I click reconnect and it does so instantly, so it's not an issue. I'm happy I got these lights. They really enhance the ambience of my backyard! They have survived the first rains, so they seem durable.

These lights are easy to hang and include clips to further make the effort easier. They fit perfectly into a 10x10 gazebo attached to the struts. As advertised you can control the color and brightness of the lights. down to the individual globe, (maybe overkill). But, the App is easy to install and connect to. Many themes and preconfigured settings you can take advantage of with timers. The cost is higher than many similar products, but not by much. This is a solid product, works as advertised, and a great investment.

Very disappointed with these after all the issues recently with the spot lights.. now these are filling with water. 50% lights dont work in less than 1yr outdoor usage. Algae even growing in a few :(

These lights are absolutely beautiful and amazing. Customer service is the best of the best. This is a solid product. Govee has amazing quality lights for the price. There is an amazing community within the app which could be overwhelming at times, but there is tons of help in the community. I have several Govee products and the addiction is on! Bright lights, great scences and very programmable. And for that reason I'm in!
