Our revolutionary Wall of Fire grate solves smoke problems and dramatically increases heat output in temperamental wood burning fireplaces. Our high efficiency grate allows a magnificent wall of warmth producing fireplace embers to develop at the base of the grate while firewood burns slow and controlled above. The vertical design initiates a completely self-feeding fire which promotes a cleaner burn. Uniquely located at the extreme rear of the fireplace, our grate forces smoke to hug the rear wall of the fire box, eliminating smoke from spilling into the home. M-5 fireplace grate dimensions: 21" wide, 14" deep, 15" tall. Constructed of 3/4" solid steel bar. Fireplace size requirements for the M-5 grate: The rear wall of the fireplace must be a minimum of 21" wide, the fireplace floor must be a minimum of 16" deep, and the height of the fireplace front opening should be a minimum of 25" to allow adequate clearance to easily load firewood onto the grate. Fireplace construction requirements for the M-5 grate: It is important to understand that the Wall of Fire grate is a one sided unit. This means that the burning firewood is positioned between the grate and the rear wall of the fireplace. Having the firewood in direct contact with the back wall of the fireplace will significantly increase the temperature of the firebrick and may cause brick and mortar fatigue over time. Because of this we highly recommend you also purchase our model RF-5 reflective fireback (sold separately by Grate Wall of Fire on ) to shield the back wall of the fireplace from excessive heat. If you are planning to use a Wall of Fire grate in any type of factory built fireplace such as a pre-fab, zero clearance, or metal fireplace, the addition of a reflective fireback is absolutely mandatory.

Fantastic upgrade!
Replaced old fireplace grate with this one and am very happy with this purchase! I no longer have to continually poke and tend to the fire. The fire is much easier to start and it burns very efficiently. Smoke is drawn up the chimney very effectively as well! Heat output is far more better than my old grate! Makes the room very cozy! Called Grate Wall of Fire with a question and they are very helpful! Purchased the fireback for extra protection and piece of mind. So glad to have made a purchase that I am pleased with making for a good quality product that I am sure will last a very long time!

So glad I bought this
So glad I bought this. I love wood fires but couldn't use my fireplace because it smoked up too much. It turns out that many homes built in my neighborhood during the 1950s were built with the chimneys not correctly aligned with the firebox. I considered getting a fireplace insert but, with installation, they were about $5,000. Plus, you have to use them with a glass barrier that, in my opinion, diminishes the charm of having a fire. I bought this with the fireback and it works great. It's ingenious. The smoke and even almost all the sparks go up the chimney. I can enjoy fires again and it also helps heat up the room instead of the heat all going up the chimney. Highly recommend.

Honestly shocked!
Not a big review writer but felt it needed it.First, delivery was supposed to be a week from now, it came within 3 days so thanks Amazon!Second it’s rare to buy something of this nature and it work exactly as described but oh my god this did.First time using is last night. Beautiful fire, easy to start and I used half the wood I usually would.And the heat, Jesus! Again, if I put my hand at the top of the fire screen, it was cool, but then I moved my hand down to around ankle height and the heat was pumping out into the room!I’m thrilled and it’s worth every penny and it’s going to save me so much on fire wood.Invest people! Quality Product and Worth the Money
Purchase with the back and well worth the money. Makes starting fire easier and easy to keep fire going. Best part it really does make room warmer.

and I'm glad I picked the "Grate Wall" for my fireplace size
Bought in tandem with RF5 Reflective Fireback. My seat on the couch is noticeably warmer. Extremely fast shipping from CT. Said it would arrive within a week to week and a half and it showed up in 3 days. Followed instructions for fire setup and it's burning away. No fussing with the logs. Just add a log or 2 every hour or so. Seriously, the shipping was Fan. Tas. Tic. I've wanted to replace my small grate, and I'm glad I picked the "Grate Wall" for my fireplace size. Happily fits up to 22" lengths without issue in my fireplace (I have a 22" back wall. Larger (18"-20") logs were problematic on my old grate. I was really limited to using 12" or so lengths in order to fit them nicely on the grate. I can now fill my new Grate Wall with lengths up to 22" (maybe even larger, but the instructions don't recommend a log longer than back wall length). All in all I'm very happy. Great product.
