Star pointing
Great for pointing out stars and planets to others!

Long Distance Range
This laser pointer works great to scare away the geese on our ponds. Aim it in front of them toward their feet and they go crazy honking and fly away. Doesn’t have as long a range of distance in the full sun but when it’s overcast or in the evening it works great!

Only lasted a week
Brightness was great could see from a far distance. Used mainly on construction sights. It feels like a quality laser but the charging port sucks. It would’ve been a great value if it lasted longer than it did. It just stopped working out of no where. The charging light would work but not the laser itself. The battery life was great while it lasted those few times I was able to use it

Almost TOO bright
Getting the filters off was a bit tricky, but doable. But DANG this thing is bright! Almost too bright to see what I'm pointing the laser at. I am a field technician and keep this in my tool pouch. I found that I could remove and flip around the pocket clip so that it works as a gaurd for the button. That way my other tools don't turn it on in my pouch. Battery life has been great, but it could stand to have a better charge indicator. Overall I am pleased, but I am looking for a way to dim it down a bit.

NOT A TOY!
I purchased this device to be used as an astronomy aid to point into the night sky. Overall, the laser pointer seems to be fairly well constructed, however, only the body is aluminum, and the detachable head as shown in second photo, is plastic and looks/feels cheap. The black anodizing doesn't seem particularly durable as its already got a few nicks, even though it's been handled gently. The on/off button, which is momentary, wobbles and feels cheap, but does have a crisp click when activating. The charging port is old style micro USB, instead of the more modern USB C, but does come with a charging cable if needed. I have not run the battery dead yet or tested capacity, but it did charge it to full capacity after first receiving it in about 1 hour. The laser is lightweight and easy to carry and includes a belt clip and lanyard. However, since there is no interlock (other than the cheap plastic clip that can be placed over the switch but slides out of place when carried in a pocket..) be careful placing it loose in a pocket, backpack or purse, as it would be easy to accidentally trigger it. MOST IMPORTANT - This laser pointer is TOO BRIGHT to be used as a TOY, or in fact for any of the advertised uses, except for pointing up at the night sky and/or away from people and animals (and passing airplanes..) The third photo shows the reflection off an LCD TV screen at 20 ft. The diffuse reflection is so bright you can't look at it - and would blind your audience if used as pointer for a presentation! The 4th photo shows the reflection off a ceramic floor at 3 feet. Again, the diffuse reflection is too bright to look at - and could blind your pets if used as a toy! However, as a laser pointer for the night sky, this is FANTASTIC! It has an estimated range of at least 1 mile, and probably closer to 2 miles and projects a beam that seemingly goes off into space... :-) It is bright enough to be visible even in the daytime with reflections visible off buildings or trees from several hundred yards, so I guess it may have also have some uses for construction, forestry, etc. but again would be wary to point away from people and animals. The laser comes with a removable diffuser cap that creates a star pattern, but even that diffuse pattern isn't comfortable to look at for very long and seems like a gimmick with limited entertainment value. Finally, I would have given this 5 stars for all metal construction, a better switch including an interlock, USB C charging, and more accurate advertising/disclaimers about actual uses.

Same exact thing as the cheap ones
I bought this one and a $10 one just to see the difference and there is literally no difference at all. Might as well get the $10 ones. I actually prefer it better because it comes with a wrist handle and this is just a belt clip thing and this one is just a lot more bulky. Same exact light strength, and I actually think this more expensive one dies quicker, which is crazy. Save your money and just get the other ones.
