Electrowide solar led outdoor light is a high quality light suitable as a security light or shed/garage light. The Electrowide solar light uses a powerful 0.6W solar panel to charge the light during the day. At night it lights up once motion is detected and turns off 30 seconds after motion stops. The Electrowide security light is easy to install with the screws and plugs provided.

perfect for the job
These may not be the most versatile or longest-lasting solar motion-detecting lights you can buy, but they are/were perfect for my application. The body of the light is sheet aluminum, as you can easily see from the picture. There are two screw holes for mounting, which is adequate. They don't weight much - probably less than a pound. The bottom side is all plastic, but that's fine as it should not be exposed (much) to the elements. The only thing I fear durability-wise is that the heat of the Oklahoma sun will eventually turn the plastic brittle, but if they last for a couple of seasons I will feel I have my money's worth. After charging for one day in the sun, I mounted mine and they are working just as advertised. Mine are mounted about 8-9' off the ground and activate within a similar radius from the light. When the light senses that it is dark (dusk), it comes on in an 'energy saving' mode (low light) until activated. Then it lights up in its brightest mode, which gives good light for 10 feet or so. If there is no further motion detected, it goes back to 'low light' mode in 30 seconds. There is no adjustment for any of this, but it works pretty good for what I need it for (taking my dogs out in the yard at night) and I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. If it lasts for a year or more, I'll be a happy camper. I've already invested in two more - hope the price stays reasonable ($23 with Amazon Prime)EDIT: After owning 4 of these for a couple of summers, I did find that they kind of started to have a "mind of their own" as another reviewer mentioned. Of the 4, maybe one a night would decide not to activate. At first I thought it was just one and it was defective, but after a few days it started working again and another one went "on the blink", as it were. Since I had more than one and they were in the same general location (across the back side of my house), it wasn't a huge issue for me, but if you only had one and it began acting up you might be a little less sanguine about it - just so you know! I still can't gripe about the overall value and utility and am getting another half-dozen or so for my new home.

EXCELLENT LIGHTS
I received two of these lights and thought they would not be able to put out the light that I needed. They are very small - only a few inches. So I decided to take them out of their boxes and lay them in the sun to charge. After a few hours, I mounted one of them on the side of my barn. We live in the country and burn our garbage back behind our barn. Unfortunately, we usually never get to it before dark, so we never know if there are any animals back there because it's pitch black. As soon as it was dark, the light turns itself on in the dim mode. Whenever it detects movement, it then raises the brightness to full power - and it's FULL POWER! These little lights certainly can put out a lot of light in a dark environment. I'm not sure how long these will last since I have only had mine for about a week, but hopefully a long time. Even if it doesn't last more than a few years, replacing isn't going to cost you a fortune either. My only two complaints are rather small. The metal seems to be a TINY bit soft, I could move the metal that has the holes in it for mounting with my hands. I would just advise you to place the product somewhere a child isn't going to be hanging on it after it's mounted because it will bend if there is too much pressure. It will not bend under it's normal weight or operation. It could be that after I had it in the sun for 7 hours, the metal was just a little too warm and flexible. This should have NO problems under normal usage. My other problem is that the motion sensor range is just okay, with about 10 feet seeing distance. It did pick up my little beagle who ran under it, so I think anything that moves will set it off if it's a beagle size or bigger. Due to the limited range of the motion sensor, I probably will end up getting another one (more because I want another one) to attach along the path to our barn because the current one only illuminates once your in the dark area, and by the time the light turns on to full power, you are going to be scared crazy if there are any animals back there. :) Also, not a problem for me, but the low 'dim' mode that runs continuously after it's dark is VERY DIM. It just illuminates the light itself, not the ground at all. Once you get near (within 10 feet) then the full power mode quickly brightens a large area. Overall, what I once suspected wouldn't do the intended job, not only fulfills most of my requirements, but also does so without any electricity - only solar power. I will certainly purchase this product again if I need to replace these ones, or any that I am about to buy to put other places around my property.

Well built unit provides even lighting and is properly sensitive to movement to provide full illumination
I really love this product and simple concept for a solar light which provides a nice low moon colored light when at rest but is sensitive enough to my movement to provide a light level equal to a full moon. The color of light is a little blue but I would be picking on the product to say that. I have four of the units mounted on the eves of my house at 25-30 distances apart and at 12-14 feet high. They allow me to travel around on the sidewalk with ease since I am in a wheelchair which makes me a low silhouette of maybe 4 feet. They always come on as I approach and remain on for 30 or so seconds if no motion is detected, then fades out to the lower light level.I also bought a similar product, the TSSS light and found it to be less sensitive to my movement and the light is not as pleasant, bluer and the diffuser is a different color and not as opaque delivering less light than the HIPE in my opinion.HIPE has a great light temperature and intensity at rest or activated with movement, proper sensitivity to motion, clean lines and simple functional design. I have bought more of these since my first purchase where I purchase one TSS and one HIPE to compare. The HIPE won me over the first time I used it mounted next to each other. Both HIPE and TSSS units are sister units with very little difference to the eye in construction. May be made by the same factory in China, different shifts?HIPE lights are basically plug and play, mount and forget unit. Use the supplied tool similar to a paperclip to turn the unit on through a small hole in the case, mount and forget. Been using for months and are always on all night since they are mounted in direct sunlight, winter will tell me more.I plan to buy more to give to a friend who has a mountain cabin to mount outside on the balcony.

Great Product
Item exactly as described. Use the little enclosed pin to activate and let it charge in direct sun for 1-2 days. Installed it with 2 enclosed screws in 5 min. Light works great - nice dusk to dawn dim illumination and surprisingly bright when motion activated. So perfect for spots where there is sun and but no power nearby. I bought 2 - perfect for front entrance lighting outside of a house where there was no outside light previously! I'm also using it in Canada where we get less daily hours of sunshine but it charges well and powers the light all night - great light! Once every 6 months, wipe the solar panel clean of dust - love it!

Good for the money; provides reasonable amount of "free" light
One of the two from this shipment arrive stuck "on," but the seller quickly issued a partial refund. The one that does work properly has worked well giving an "okay" amount of light to part of a deck. The mounting position gives it full sun which helps. Time will tell how it does through a Canadian winter.AFTER WINTER UPDATE:So it did NOT hold up to even a single winter season. It's totally dead. Don't waste your money on these.

Great product - Almost perfect for what I needed.
This worked great right out of the box. Actually it works great even though right now the solar panel itself is buried under an inch of ice! However I docked it a star because the battery doesn't hold it's charge overnight. A few hours after dusk the dog goes into her run to do her thing and the light goes on bright as all get out! Perfect! Same thing just before bed. However, in the morning there is nothing. Granted it is winter so the sun is a little lower and it doesn't get the same sun it would in the summer but for what I paid it does the trick (mostly)!

Works Great, have tried it for past week in cold ...
Works Great, have tried it for past week in cold and rainy weather here in Canada and it is still working, Took FOREVER to arrive (over 35 days) because it ships from China, so only purchase this if you expect to wait that long for a product that works as advertised, or pay 5 bucks more and buy one identical that ships from closer. Let's see how it holds up to Canada's ever changing weather.

Great Idea but Poorly Made
I bought three of these. They work good and is nice and bright but once the sun has been on them for a while the solar panel lifts off and now everything is exposed underneath.. Wires, battery etc and the rain gets inside. I store them in the winter months as they are not needed. I would buy them again if the solar panel issue was fixed.
