I’ve had the very expensive brand that uses high-priced D cell batteries for several years. I saw these Aku Tonpa candles and was quite surprised at the price—3 candles for less than half the price I had paid for one. Even better, these candles use AA batteries. So you gotta wonder, with such a price difference, how good could these be? Well, I haven’t had them for very long, so I don’t know if they eat batteries or give up the ghost after a few months, but so far I’ve been so impressed by the quality that I’ve bought more. And the remote feature is great.**UPDATE: It's been almost 2 months, and my first set of 3 candles is still working on the same AA batteries. Yay!

I am so pleased with the size and quality of these candles. I especially love the fact that I can just turn them off and on with the remote as well as adjust the brightness of the "flame" and set them on a timer. An excellent product that I would certainly buy again.

I have been trying to make the switch to flameless candles. About five years ago I bought my first ONE for $30. I have some lanterns that were needing flameless candles. After searching Amazon I came up with these 3 (in a pack) which was exactly what I needed for amazing value. They came promptly and I have been using the remote to turn them on and off every night! People comment on how nice they are, they look like real candles with the way they flicker and I will definitely buy them again. Great candles for an incredible value!

This is my third set of faux candles, and my favorite by far. They are realistic enough to fool someone unless they get really close. I like that they are large candles; the others are much smaller in size. I initially thought the remote was overkill, but quickly decided that it was a nice way to quickly turn all three on or off, or make any adjustments.

Look great. Love that I don’t have to keep replacing candles now. A little confused on how the “timer” works. Not sure if it’s supposed to just turn off after 2h or if it turns off and automatically comes back on the next day. Just need to actually experiment with it and put reminders on my phone to actually check.The remote is definitely nice over having to individually turn them on and off on the bottom, but I find I have to hold the remote pretty close to get it to work. Not a problem for where I have them but I could see wanting to put them in a somewhat inaccessible place and I would be concerned that the remote might not transmit far enough.

I love real candles and didn’t think I would be happy with fake candles however I purchased these to put in some lanterns since I have pets and children at home. I am so pleased with how real they look. They are made from real wax and have a beautiful glow! My mother has the expensive name brand ones she swears by and I can’t even tell the difference between hers and mine.

The media could not be loaded.  I'd been looking for flameless candles for a while and finally decided to pick these up. They look REALLY good. You wouldn't think so holding it in the light, up close. But set it on a shelf and arrange it like a real candle and you wouldn't honestly be able to tell the difference unless you knew better. I put these on shelves I have on my wall and for a split second I worried I would burn the paint. But it's totally flameless.The remote range isn't super far and you have to be careful to point it right at the candle, so I wouldn't expect to set them across the room and turn it off from say, your bed. But if you put them out of reach on a wall you don't have to worry about climbing up to flick a switch or if they were real, applying a flame.They look pretty real and the 'melted candle' pattern looks exactly like a real candle. You can have a lovely candle look anywhere and not fear about burning anything down.

Great candles, very believable from a distance away in a dim room. The candles are a bit dim though, even with fresh batteries in them, and the flame is much more orange than a real candle. They do the job though and look pretty good, I have mine programmed into a broadlink RM-3 Mini so I can control them from the Google home with "Okay Google, turn on the candles" and it feels pretty magical!

I ordered two sets of candles, out off the six candles, one lite up then died within seconds. I then changed the battery and the same thing happened again. Tested the batteries all had full charge.on saying that I was impressed by the ones that worked and brought another set of three.

I use this as a bedside lamp😂. It’s very helpful it comes with remote. It’s what I like the most. I place them in different corners of the room and no need to leave the bed to switch them off. They look very real as well. Nice cosy light.

Didn’t have any of the others issues in some reviews. Arrived quicker than expected. Set mine to come on for 3 hours every evening in the bathroom creating the illusion of warm flickering candles which illuminate the bathroom at night!

Just love these candles, this is the 3rd set I have bought
