So I carefully read thru all the 1, 2 & 3 star reviews for all the reasons why it scored that low, I’d say about 70% of the complaints were that water/urine got under the plexi glass on the bottom and stank and/or started rotting the wood. I decided to buy this anyway, then I proceeded to buy waterproof caulking tape (good quality) and when I received the cage, I used the more expensive caulk tape I bought separately to water proof the corners/edge so that the urine doesn’t go under the plexi glass. *shrugs* problem solved. Buy your own and throw the junk they send with it right in the trash! The other major complaints were that the holes didn’t like up properly or weren’t predrilled. First of the holes don’t line up, turn it around, they are lined up specifically to each leg so when one doesn’t fit, you have to rotate it. Secondly, the top/lid doesn’t have predrilled holes into the back panel because the wood is too thin & would crack in shipment, the actual top has holes but they weren’t lined up properly which isn’t a big deal to us. That was the only real issue with it. It’s sturdy enough for a 3lb piggie and our dog constantly leaning her nose on the windows to watch it. It rolls with ease around the house making vacuuming easy and and the shelf underneath is perfect for 2 small totes. One to hood food, toys and treats and the other to hold extra blankets and grooming supplies. I would definitely recommend this cage to someone on a budget, someone who needs storage room, someone who needs the ease of portability or just for a kid who’s just starting out with their first realIndoor pet (besides the car or dog variety). This cage is super awesome!!! I recommend it for smaller rodents like gerbils and mice, but a hamster might do alright in here too! The instructions are super easy to follow, although I did mess up a couple times but that was my fault, make sure you look closely at where the holes are on the instruction sheet! If you do better with picture instructions this is good for you, as it doesn’t describe how to do it in sentences. Took about an hour and a half for me and my dad to put it together. The plexiglass on the bottom is a great idea and the sealant tape works well! Although it does smell of wood it’s only reallg noticeable when you’re about a foot away. I’d say the measurements on the description are accurate so this is a pretty decent sized cage! Overall I’m super happy that I got this cage and it is worth every penny spent! This cage is very big and nice for being only $100. I wouldn’t recommend keeping any animal bigger than a hamster in here though, as bigger animals require more space. Other than that this cage is awesome!

Great for two gerbils! Look great when assembled. Item arrived before expected but had a damaged piece. The damage did not effect being able to assemble or use the product. It was simple to put together using the instructions. Easy to move and set up. Company was great to work with for replacing damaged lives and offered several options to correct my issues. Would

I really wanted to like this, as it is a decent sized enclosure compared to what pet stores market for small animals, and this one seemed to be marketed to use for hamsters. And it is a beautiful set-up.There are pros and cons. Pros are for sure that it seems sturdy enough, and cleaning is very easy, and if course it's very nice.Unfortunately though, it is NOT chew proof, and our hamster loves chewing the corners, and has managed to chew the acrylic tape the instructions direct you to use. I did spray some bitter apple on a cotton ball and used it to wipe a small amount in the corners and that seemed to help.Along with that, it does not seem resistant to liquid, as the hamster pee is already damaging the wood. We have had this cage for a few weeks, with me cleaning it weekly, and the damage has only increased. I also noticed that there are things that still get in-between the bottom back of the cage. However, if I placed the tape higher, it would only be easier for her to chew.If the wood was both truly chew proof and liquid resistant, this would easily be a 5 star. But it's neither. The practicality of a small animal enclosure is that it should be chew resistant and resistant to urine.I would say take the money you would have spent on this, and place it toward the glass tank style instead. Again, this is aesthetically pleasing, but was wrong of me to assume the wood was treated somehow to be chew and liquid resistant...my fault for not reading the description more in depth.

Customer service was very helpful to a point. I had a few issues with delays they were more than happy to help with but also weren't clear with their refund promises and included typos that were just a bit too drastic. The cage itself is very nice! I will say there are a few places where the instructions, I felt, could have been just a tad more specific about which way certain parts should be facing. Anyway, the material is sturdy but keep in mind you're only paying 90-100 for this cage, that being said its made of a cheaper type of wood. Personally I don't mind, as long as your pets aren't super chewy when it comes to that "crate" wood. My rats aren't super bitey so I have no issue as of now, but it is something you should keep in mind! Just as well, this wood is VERY prone to warping, I had my top piece come warped, but you have to fasten it down with some pretty long screws that were strong enough to pull the wood flush with the frame so it wasn't an issue for myself. One really nice thing about this cage is the bottom is fitted with a plexiglass/acrylic piece that makes cleaning the bottom of it out relatively easy!
