I started my role as an investor a year and a half ago right after graduating from college. As I navigated my first few months in venture, I stumbled upon all the things that I did not know I did not know. I wish I had this book handy when I was starting out. All of the writers do an incredible job at giving someone like me an extremely powerful playbook on how to approach building a successful career in venture.It's extremely difficult to get tactical advice in this career. For everyone who told me to "find my superpower," I really just wanted them to advise me on how to meet my first 50 people in venture or how to present that exciting deal in my internal meeting tomorrow. This book fills a much needed gap in mentorship for junior VCs by leveraging voices that have very recently and successfully navigated the ins and outs of early days in venture. I will continue to hold this book close as I progress in my role as the learnings will be applicable through every stage of my journey. Highly recommend!

As someone with a credit background, I took away many incredible insights across all stages of the investment process, from maximizing day-to-day output to developing a wholesome understanding of the industry. Sakib thoughtfully blends the perspectives of dozens of investors to create a handbook that is easy to follow and filled with helpful takeaways to anyone looking to build and progress their career in venture.

The Young VC Handbook was a great read for any young VC or aspiring VC.Here are a few takeaways:1) Concise and well structured2) Good detail, but not "overkill" on topics. It provided me with several points to research later on my own, but did not drag them out in the book itself.3) Perspective & Point of View, Each chapter allowed me to feel that I was having a conversation with the VC sharing their thoughts.

This book is very good, but the editing job was not good. As you go through the book, you will notice missing sentences and things like QR codes.I suspect and hope that the second edition will correct mistakes in this first edition.

This put succinctly and eloquently describes every aspect of one of the most opaque industries: Venture Capital and early stage investing.Anyone that reads this book will have an immediate leg-up on their peers starting out in the industry. I recommend the book 10/10.
