When I got my dog, the first things I bought were a harness and seatbelt clip for the car - but he always tangled himself up in the seatbelt clip. It was always under his tummy/round his legs. I bought this to clip into the Isofix mounting (which it does beautifully) - but it is actually MUCH better clipped around the metal support for the head restraint (single turn round the pole and clip to itself). This allows the cable to hang from above like a dog lead. He can move around the back seat, stand up, lie down, look out of the window - but he certainly can't hit the seats in front or escape.I do many miles and this is perfect. Unfortunately, I had to do a 100% stop the other week and the poor chap was a bit shaken but he stayed in place as well as my human passengers - and certainly better than any seatbelt clip that was wrapped around him or cage that he would have hit.

I only used it for a few days then the joint snapped (see pictures). Good luck for me it is happening during a test for the strength. I joined the collar and my flexi lead on my golden retriever (32 kg i.e. < 50 kg advertised). AMAZON MUST CEASE this product immediately from listing because what happen if this happen during a car accident - the passangers and the dog could be killed to know that this safety lead for the car is not as intended. Upon my further look into the metal clam that snapped; (see picture) It clams the steel cable still sorrounded with the rubber coating. It is by design or malproduction - I don't care but the safety product should have quality control. The metal clam should clams the bare steel cable then coated not the other way round. Avoid this product like a disease.

Bought for attaching my beagle by his harness back clip to the isofix bar on the back seat.Excellent item. My dog has chewed through a seat belt in 2 seconds flat, and also knows how to press the button to undo the seatbelt. 🙄 Clever thing. This is the first restraint we’ve found that 1) he can’t chew through and 2) he actually doesn’t mind. He happily sits or wanders in the back and after the initial 5 minutes of figuring it out, he was content with it.We have a short 16” one which allows him to sit, lay down, and get close enough to the window to put his head out but no further. He can lean forward enough for a cuddle but can’t climb between the front seats at all.It’s also extremely easy to clip on and off of him, but also the isobars. I have used it previously to attach him in the front seat too when the back is full.Excellent product, great price. I bought 2, for each of our cars. 👍 I also bought a longer one initially but my dog likes to get as close to me as possible so he had too much leeway with that one.

We bought this to add to an extendable lead after our Cairn puppy chewed her way through a brand new extendable lead in less than 5 minutes. This clips on to the bottom of her lead and she is not tall enough to be able to bite above it. After a few chew attempts she soon gave up and doesn't even try to chew her lead. It also acts as a very useful restraint when on board our boat, we clip it to the seat rail and it stops her trying to get over board.

Great sturdy pet restraint. It will work well with the ISO fix hooks in my car.I've bought this to allow my dog a little more stretch room in the boot and this will do exactly that.The cord is very sturdy and durable. Not flimsy at all. Time will tell if the clips stand up to regular use, I'm hopeful.

We have a Citroen C4 Grand and we use the restraints in the boot area to stop our dogs jumping out when we open the door. They are long enough to allow them to move around and get comfortable but prevents them from jumping out with the door open

Our labrador loved to jump out of the boot when we arrived for a walk. We used this restraint as part of his training to stay in place. He no longer leaps out in enthusiasm and wait to be given permission. A useful temporary tool.A word of caution - first time we used it and he was not familiar with wearing the restraint he almost choked himself trying to leap out of the boot

Bought two of these and one has failed, with my dog jumping out from the car into the road. Thankfully she avoided the traffic but the outcome could have been very different... If this 'restraint' can fail simply from being pulled at by the dog then it is going to be no use at all in accident. I've binned the second - can't take the risk.
