A nice little steel
I lost my old steel but this is a very good replacement. Not only does it sharpen steel knives but its useful for unblocking the sink too.

A sharpening steel in necessary must to have tool in every day carry package because it helps to repair knife0s edge and to restore sharpness.

Finally found the correct steel for re-alineing the blade edge that that I put on all my knives via a special set of oil stones that I have used free hand for over 40 yrs now. You do not to use the "traditional" ribbed steel sharpening steels on any folding or fixed blade . They remove way too much good steel & will shorten the lifespan of any good quality knife.

Excellent quality and performance. It is not tapered towards the tip. For me, suitable for plain edge, not for serrated knives.

Don't waste your time contantly resharpening your knife. If it is a quality knife and the blade has not been abused, it just needs to be stropped. This iron is excellent and quite portable. Beats carrying the wifes stropping steal arround.
