A Why-Choose Romance You Can't Put Down!
Castle of Nevers and Nightmares by Lana Pecherczyk is an enthralling and meticulously crafted why choose fantasy romance that effortlessly pulls you into a world where dreams and nightmares come alive! The story follows Willow Nightstalk, a wolf shifter who has lost her magic and struggles with a curse that makes her as ugly on the outside as she feels on the inside. Now, she seeks revenge on The Six, the powerful fae who she believes ruined her life and finds herself trapped in the kingdom of Alvorna. She ends up entered in a deadly tournament and is unexpectedly chosen to represent the House of Shadows—the very house led by The Six, who do not recognize her except for one: Fox. As she navigates this treacherous new world, Willow must confront her past, embrace her destiny, and discover the true meaning of power and loyalty. From the moment I started reading, I was completely captivated by the rich, immersive world she has created. Willow is an exceptional protagonist. Her journey from a place of self-loathing and vengeance to one of self-discovery and empowerment is both heart-wrenching and inspiring. Pecherczyk deftly portrays her inner turmoil and growth, making Willow a character you root for every step of the way. Her interactions with The Six—particularly Fox—are filled with tension, passion, and an evolving sense of trust and camaraderie. The dynamics within The Six are fascinating, each member bringing their unique strengths and vulnerabilities to the table. The concept of their hive mind, their shared history, and the intricate bonds they form with Willow add layers of depth to the story. Fox especially, is a stand out character whose chemistry with Willow provides a sweet and intense slow burn romance that will keep you eagerly turning the pages.Pecherczyk’s writing is lush and evocative, painting vivid scenes that bring the world of Alvorna to life. The plot is expertly paced, balancing action, intrigue, and character development. Though the story ends on a cliffhanger, it only heightens the anticipation for the next installment.Castle of Nevers and Nightmares is a mesmerizing start to the Fae Devils series, combining rich world-building, complex characters, and an engaging plot to create a truly unforgettable reading experience. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy romance with depth, intrigue, and a touch of darkness. I can’t wait to see where Willow’s journey takes her next!

confused
I don’t know if I loved this book or hated it. First off it said it was a stand alone in the universe of her previous books but the lie detector determined that was a lie. Was I able to eventually figure it out? Yes but did it take wAaay to freaking long? Also yes. But the story is good. The premise is SOLID. the world building and character building was chaos. Anyway I will be reading book 2 because I made it through book one and have a little idea of what’s going on and now I’m committed

very good!
I loved this story. I only read the first book of the Fae Guardians, and although it says the Far Guardian books enhance the reading and wasn’t imperative to this story, I felt like I was missing something in the translation. Was the war and the Rory story in one of the other books? I tried to find it so I could catch up but I wasn’t able to identify it.Anyway, this book is very good, the characters are compelling, the world is horrible. Very interesting story line! I’m looking forward to book 2!

5⭐️ 3🌶️ One of my new spicy fantasy all time faves!
I enjoyed the entire Fae Guardians series and was excited when this came out because I’ve been dying to know about the Slaugh. From start to finish this was amazing. Plot perfection, unique world, well developed characters, evil villains aplenty, cool magic systems, a complex society with unique “isms” in the way they talk and interact, aka “We’re smiling”. Basically everything you could hope for in a fantasy book. There are other reviewers who stated that the book was heavy on the world building and therefore slow to get going, but I disagree!Maybe it’s because they didn’t read Guardians first but the world was already built! Willow, our FMC, and her whole family have a long and complex back-story from the other series. I know this is meant to be stand alone, but you can’t truly appreciate Tinger, the Salish, Willow, or her mom without reading the Guardian series first. This new world of Avalorna is very much a dystopian parallel to the Guardians world. Very similar and yet so, so different. Willow has to puzzle piece it all together to figure out what’s going on after she portals to Avalorna. It’s fun uncovering mysteries in every chapter.Willow is a good quality FMC like all Lana’s heroins tend be. She’s fierce, loyal, and protective of those she considers her friends. She bucks the Old Code - a vain, Handmaids Tale-like set of rules that society has to live by and I love her for it. I love that she quickly realizes her revenge plan might not be what she really wants anymore; she adapts and doesn’t hang onto prejudices or fool herself by ignoring facts and feelings.I love Fox. LOVE HIM. His predicament is heart wrenching and I love how hard he tries to keep his hive together despite all the odds stacked against him. “Keep killing me slowly” 🥵The spice was perfect, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book with Willows relationship with the rest of the hive! The cliffhanger killed me. I will most definitely have a book hangover now.

love love love
Okay I’m obsessed with this series. I’ve read the Fae Guardian series and now it’s come full circle where it’s now the child of the 2 people the first book is about. I love the world building if this series and how everyone has their own problems and no one is perfect. Well with their actions because appearances show that the slaugh may be perfect. Anyways I really enjoy the spicy scenes but also the story line. I’m so glad the next book is out so I can immediately start reading it. I have been very pleased by all the books I’ve read by this author so far. If you enjoy steamy, romantasy then I highly recommend this series but would definitely start with the Fae Guardians the Longing of Lone Wolves book first. There are references from the main character, Willow and it would definitely be worth the read since it’s also a great book. But I think you’d be okay if you didn’t want to read it, but for me im glad I did.

Fantastic, unbelievable, loved it ❤️
I’m baffled, that book was fantastic - I wasn’t sure at the beginning because I don’t read a reverse harem. But damn Lana is just awesome, it was so well written and complex, just impossible to stop reading - I enjoyed it soo much.First of all, Willow is a complex character, she had a hard childhood, thought she was someone special for a minute, then was abandoned by the Sluagh and had to face the consequences of her action and the loss of her magic. Soo yeah she had some bagages, tired of not doing anything at all about it, she decided to take revenge on the Six and then stumbles into another kingdom governed by dreams and nightmares, and where humans are Nothing ( such an interesting society and different from Elphyne). The Six are the House of Shadows with a prominent place in this society but they don’t remember her at all, when she is chosen to be a representative of their house in a tournament she’s rather surprised. Now she has to live with them and fight for those she considers her enemies.Fox is the fifth one but for once in his long life, he’s the first one as he’s the only one remembering their Queen, it is his role to conquer her and save them all. Fox appears as the nicest of them all but he’s still as ferocious as the others.I truly loved the banter between him and Willow, it was sooo entertaining.I truly love the fact that they are six and one at the same time, meaning they’re all her mate; and it makes so much sense.I’m really excited for the next book and to see how it will evolve, for sure Willow has a lot of work but I cannot wait to see them fall one by one. Also, my heart is screaming for Varen !!!

WOW
That ending though!Ok. This whole book felt like I’d fallen down the rabbit hole and was simultaneously in awe and slightly confused about what was going on. Like I was just slightly out of step, but thoroughly intrigued. This is one of those stories that had so much beautiful world building, so much character development, and storyline that flowed seamlessly from one thing to the next, that I don’t know where to start describing it.Willow has definitely not been happy. It’s five years after the battle in War of Ruin and Reckoning, and she still feels out of place and left behind. After a heartbreaking event has her feelings hitting a new low, and a new enemy emerges to kick her while she’s down, she decides she needs to go after the six men she blames for ruining her life. Now she’s down a rabbit hole with everything topsy turvy and nobody who she thought they were. With no magic and new rules to figure out, she is forced into a competition that is both dangerous and favours the beautiful over the “undesirable”. And for some reason, the six men she was here to kill, are helping her. There is a lot going on beneath the surface of this glittery world. You immediately feel like it’s a tenuous illusion, hiding darkness and depravity. I want to compare it to something creepy, like stepford wives, or coraline, but that’s not quite right. You definitely feel like you’ve stepped into a faerie world where everything beautiful is deadly, and you need to be on your guard.I absolutely loved Willow. While she is very unsure about her self worth, she is strong and determined to do the right thing. She was very relatable and I immediately was on her side.We see the most of Fox in this book, so I’m definitely in love with him now. He started off feeling adorably clueless about Willow, but was always loyal to her and the others despite his pain and confusion. Very much the lovable antihero.“ ’Don’t ki11 . Don’t ki11.’ A female bows and apologizes for breathing. My lips curve. ’Definitely don’t ki11 that one.’ “I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the others more in the next book. Especially after that ending! 💜

Lana P + Why Choose = FANTASTIC
So much that I loved about this book. To start, it's a spin off series from her Fae Guardians series, definitely read that first. The characters- The Slaugh were such a great group of monsters. I've been looking forward to seeing them in a book for a while. These guys are your morally grey characters with hearts of gold (only for their Queen bee). Some absolutely great banter on page from them. Our FMC Willow has been through the ringer She has lost her magic and struggling through a world filled with magic everywhere. Lana did an amazing job building this new realm and bringing life to the Wild Hunt. This book is the slowest of slow burns, but the scene has been set for combustion on the next book.Castle of Nevers and Nightmares was an absolute emotional roller-coaster. It left of screaming at the pages and wanting the next book NOW. Alas, we all have to be good and wait until August. I highly recommend this page turner, I couldn't put it down.

Cant wait for the next one
I loved the world building, as well as the cross over of characters, the twists, the angst and the slow burn.
