Quite an easy to use forehead thermometer. It comes with an instructions leaflet and 2×AAA batteries, which comes in handy if you did not have any in the house already. I had quite the trouble opening the lid to the battery slots, but did manage to open it in the end. Once batteries were in, it was easy to set the temperature to °C (comes preset for °F) and change between body mode and object mode. I did take a few readings for each mode and compared it to my other forehead thermometer and it was a 0.5° lower difference. All in all, it's a good thermometer to have, I'll keep this as a spare for our holidays. At the current price of £16.99, it is quite a good value and I would recommend it.

I like this easy to use non-contact thermometer made by the brand HealthTree. At the time of writing it is currently on sale for £16.99, a 15% reduction from the list price.This thermometer runs on 2 x AAA batteries WHICH I LOVE because, as well as these coming supplied, it is a never-ending resource everyone has to had ( or the corner shop does, at least). So you can use this thermometer late at night, as kids sickness always strikes at the most inconvenient moments! It measures in degrees farenheit and celcius, just choose which suits and has a 20 memory precent so you can measure a fever's progression. I'd also note what all family members measure as base temperature ON THIS THERMOMETER and keep that note in the box. That way you'll know the deviation of the base temperature, as base temp can depend on age and other factors and can differ.I have always been a bit suspicious of non-contact thermometers, and while they have their limitations I think the main thing to do is to always use the same method of measurement (always measure the same part of the body, always hold the thermometer the same distance from the skin). I really appreciate it is all contained in one unit, especially after having an in-ear version in the past, I could never find the little plastic tips when I needed them, and it couldn't work without.I note it also can measure environmental temperates also, such as bathwater or radiators, I haven't had the chance to test the yet.

You always have to have one of these devices so you can double check if someone has a temperature and then give them paracetamol or if it is very high then a visit to the doctor is in orderIt seems fairly accurate and a decent LCD display.It's better to use than a ear thermometer with kids as they don't always stay still long enough to get a reading.Runs on AAA batteries.

I would recommend taking a few readings throughout the day when you first get a new thermometer to get a general idea of what is normal for each member of the family. That way it’s easier to tell when something isn’t right.Compared with an ear thermometer I have, this non-contact thermometer read 0.6°C lower on me.I did have a problem opening the battery door, it took a lot of effort to slide the door open. I did worry that it was about to break with the effort it took. I just hope it’ll be easier now it’s been opened once, and the installed batteries don’t make it harder.It was good to have the batteries supplied, which isn’t always the case. The other thing I liked was the proper printed manual with a font size I didn’t need a high-power magnifying glass to read. I still think it would be better to save the trees and have a QR code to download a PDF manual.I changed the scale from °F to °C without needing to refer to the manual and worked out how to change from body temperature to object temperature. The last 20 readings can be checked on the display. An LED light across the top of the thermometer gives an indication, by changing colour from green to red, if the temperature is outside normal.Overall, a very easy to use thermometer, supplied with batteries and a decent manual, and great value too.

One you finally get the batteries in this was very easy to us. A simple press of the button head an inch away from the forehead and it give you a reading.You can also use it to measure surface temperature, I tested this on a radiator and this worked perfectly.Overall very happy to have this in the house ready just in case it is needed.
