Perfect so far
I recently bought an EV as my main vehicle and was looking at quotes to get a proper charger fitted but sadly my home needs some serious work to support one.Instead, given the car is parked on the driveway most of the time I use this, ramped down to 6A (it can do 6, 8, 10, 13, 15A) through a smart socket. The unit is plugged into a socket in the garage, with the lead coming out through a fortuitous gap, and the smart bracket it comes with holds the handle and cable outside the garage so I can access it from outside. It's been reliable and when running at 6A (due to my set up and concerns about household wiring) whilst slow, I just plug it in when my car drops below 60% and it's been absolutely fine.It comes with a lovely case I now actually use to store my cars type 2 cable in as it comes with grips on the back to stop it flying around the boot.Definitely recommend.

Saved us money
Really easy to use with options for slow or faster charging. Saved me having to spend a whole lot more for a home pod charging station especially as I am driving a PHEV

Trickle charger that worked well.
Charged the car, a plug-in hybrid Hyundai Tucson, in around four and a half hours, which was quicker than expected. Much cheaper than installing a charging station, and build quality seems excellent, so good value for money.

Perfect for hybrid cars or as an emergency charger for full EV cars.
Update 17/04/2025- I know people out there are going to say something along the lines of well ‘that’s stating the obvious’ but it didn’t occur to me, probably because I was so excited about getting the new car, if you are buying one of these chargers check out the length of the cable run from socket to vehicle and if it’s going to be a tiny bit tight buy the next longest cable run. Why? Because whichever extension lead you have lying around just won’t be able to cope with 3kW of electricity going through it, it will melt. The house wiring will be fine but almost all extensions are only rated for around 1.4kW at 10amp and that’s not man enough so do please check and charge at 10 amp for safety purposes.I have been tempted for some time to try a hybrid vehicle but had always shied away from that awful VED tax placed on new cars! After all, show me a car that is under that ludicrous £40k luxury tax bracket and I’ll show you a car I don’t want to buy. But that has all changed, no I didn’t win the lottery, I came across a brilliantly priced vehicle which ticked all of my requirement boxes and gave me almost 80 miles of range on battery alone. Next thing is how do I charge it? Well as a hybrid it does partly do it itself but not fully. Is it worth buying and having fitted a wall charger? No. Would I pay the outrageous price for a charging point at a garage or store! No. So after a lot of research I decided to go for one of these fellas and I’m more than happy with it. I plug in to a 13amp socket at night and let it do its thing, which it does perfectly. No fuss no bother it just works. No overheating of the plug or cable, heavy duty cable fitted as sold, okay it takes a little longer to charge but it is on a standard tariff and so costs about £3+ to charge and if you compare that with a special EV tariff and a whooping fee for a charger I’m only paying about 1.2 pence per kWh more and saving a lorra money on that charger on the wall fee. If you have a full EV this is only for an emergency charge but if you are running a hybrid, mine has a 26.6 kWh battery, then this is more than sufficient to keep it topped up. If it does run a little hot then you have the option to reduce from 13amp to 10amp or whatever works best for you. Very happy with both the charger and the price and delivery was very quick.

Good Granny Cable
This cable does just what I want. I delay charging to take advantage of night time cheap rates and keep the current down to avoid a fire in my garage. My hybrid is comfortably recharged overnight without any heating of plug or socket.

Quality
Feels well made, we had to use this until our home charger was fitted. It never got Hot even after it was left on all night.

Adjustable power
Very useful with solar panels as you can adjust the power that the charger uses. From 6 amps to 13 amps.
