BourjoisRouge Laque Lip Liquid Lipstick 2 Selfpeach! Corals, 6ml

Smooth silky Colour in smart compact - part of a whole range from bourgeois which many of us have used since teens.

I love Bourjois products and have used them for years so was keen to review this lipstick. It looks from the outside like an ordinary one but instead it comes with an applicator. This particuar colour, Selfpeach, is a lush, strong colur - pretty much the same as the tube it comes in - a deep orangey red. It looks great on. The scent is lovely and the texture is smooth and creamy as it goes on your lips. It is absorbed pretty much instantly, leaving a smooth, almost matte finish - and it feels like it is sealing your lips to prevent loss of moisture. I really like it.

This seems like war paint, rather than make up. Slicked on with the applicator, it is more suitable for the stage, performance arts, perhaps. The shouty, pillar box bright, blood red, crime scene product stains, and stays. I was sent '04'. I tried it on the back of my hand, and it's still there hours later, even after washing up. More of a nail varnish than a lip stick, it dries to an unusually dull, crusty, plastic finish.The word 'Laque' is appropriate in the naming. It is a lacquer, satinwood paint like look, and as you guessed, it's not for me. If you go for the slash of red, which does show off one's teeth well, making them appear whiter than ever, then this might suit. I am still worried about the residual staining and the flatness of the final effect though. There is nothing 'Self' or 'Peach' to this number 04, it is just poster paint colour red. Confusing name. Try before you buy, for sure.
