Deadly spiders
The reason I bought the book is because I love fishing Stewart spiders . And the history that comes with them. It’s a good book. And picked up a few tips . If u enjoy fishing rivers for wild brown trout it’s worth a read!

A great read with a lot of good information
This is a great book and just what I was looking for. It has a lot of very valuable information, and It is very easy to read on these old eyes. I have found no issues with the printing. Thanks you for making this available!I am just getting into spiders and soft hackles. A lot of the books on this subject are out of print, or very expensive if you can find a used book. I have a few other books on the subject by Dave Hughes and Sylvester Nemes. I am glad to add this to my fly fishing library.

Some Timeless Advice
Hard to believe that an 1857 tome has such relevant advice about fishing technique.

Charming and informative
I enjoy these old fishing books and this didn’t disappoint. Even though it must be 150 years old there were quite a lot of informative parts for myself as a relatively new trout angler.

deep
keeping in mind that this tome is from a long time ago, and that a lot has changed, this is a real keeper. It was like reading from one of the harvey penick golf books. In short, this gentleman knew his material extremely well.
