Great charger
There were so many options for chargers, so I asked around to gather recommendations. ChargePoint received universally high marks compared to some of the alternatives which are available at a lower price. A friend who had purchased a cheaper unit complained bitterly that it nearly cost him his garage due to overheating and possible fire threats. Without exception, the ChargePoint device is obviously better built, safer, and generally worry-free. It also comes with a fantastic app that is both easy to use and incredibly effective. I couldn't be happier with my selection and would recommend this charger very highly

Great Tesla Charger for Home!
Tried to get an "official" install of a Tesla charger at home. Instead found this and was really easy. Had an electrician install a 50-amp receptacle and the rest was easy to do. Love the smart features and the ability to track costs and schedule charging for off peak hours. The quality of the product is really great too, love the soft and easy to manipulate charging cord. Recommend this solution for all tesla owners.

Great product - but installation method and instructions are flawed
Vehicle: Mini Cooper SEPURCHASEThe salesman at the dealership told us the mini comes with a level 1 charger, so I elected to buy this ChargePoint level 2 charger to upgrade our charging capabilities and have it ready by the time we drove the car home. The salesman was wrong, the car comes with a level 2 charger and a 115v adapter plug so you can use regular house current until you upgrade to a 230v outlet. Result, 500 bucks blown unnecessarily on the ChargePoint and shame on me for not doing more research myself.INSTALLATIONI installed the ChargePoint myself using the hardwired option and the existing 230v outlet I have in the garage. ChargePoint uses two apps for the installation. The ChargePoint Installation app and the ChargePoint user app. The instructions do not clearly explain this nor when its time to transition from the installation app to the user app. This caused problems when I scanned a QR code with the wrong app! I had to call customer service for assistance and although they were friendly and tried to help, the call station was obviously outsourced, and the agent did not have the requisite training or language skills to be effective. I was able to gather enough that it was time for me to delete the installation app and switch to the user app for the next step.PERFORMANCEI do like the ChargePoint design, appearance and user interface. It all works well and the WiFi connectivity and synched charging programs with my power company are nice.SAVINGSLook for money back programs from your power company and vehicle manufacturer and enroll. For example, Xcel energy gives us $50/year for charging off peak (Optimize Your Charge program) and BMW's ChargeForward program pays us for reducing carbon emissions by charging off peak. The problem I am having now is Xcel energy is controlling my charging schedule through ChargePoint and BMW is controlling my car's built-in charging system through the ChargeForward program, resulting in frequent conflicts. One is OFF when the other is ON, causing periods of no charging and we sometimes don't have a full battery when it's time to leave in the morning.SUMMARYThe ChargePoint is a great EV charging system as stated by numerous professional and consumer product reviews. The installation guidance is not well orchestrated and cumbersome. It's an easy installation if you know basic house wiring but ChargePoint obfuscates it with the installation app which shouldn't be necessary. And I didn't need to buy it because the car came with a level 2 charger and I could have enrolled in the power company's and manufacturer's money back charging programs without it. And good luck synchronizing your various charging incentives together so you have a full charge when it's time to leave in the morning!Update: I was able to synchronize Xcel energy’s “Optimize Your Charge (OYC)” and BMW’s ChargeForward program such that I get all the savings and have a full charge in the morning. Also, I could NOT have enrolled in the “Optimize Your Charge (OYC)” program with the charger that was included with the car. The program is only compatible with 2 specific chargers, (ChargePoint & Juice Box).

Outstanding EV charger
I had researched home EV chargers for several months prior to buying an EV, and decided on the ChargePoint HomeFlex charger, based on professional and user reviews. I was not disappointed. This Level 2 charger is well-built and works perfectly. I highly recommend it.The trickiest part was the timing. I ordered the charger just after making the EV purchase, and also hired a licensed master electrician to install it (highly recommended). Until it was installed, I could only use public chargers, the closest of which is 50 miles away, or the emergency 120V adapter that came with my vehicle (which takes forever like a trickle charge) so it limited the use of my new car for a while. The electrician discovered we needed an upgrade in our electrical service, put in a second circuit breaker box, and laid new wiring to accommodate the charger. Of course, the carport is on the opposite end of the house from the original circuit breaker, which was overloaded. It ended up costing more than I anticipated, but it was worth it to have a competent electrician thoroughly check the loads and make sure the electrical system is safe. The electrician ran into some confusion in the written instructions and contacted the ChargePoint tech support, but it was eventually straightened out, and it installed without further problems and connected to the ChargePoint app on my phone. The ring around the charger's holster for the cord plug glows green constantly to show it is ready to charge. It has a 25' cord, and when it's connected and charging, the base unit pulses blue. The ChargePoint app is easy to use when charging, and shows how much electricity you're using and how much it costs from your utility company. So far it has cost under $5 for an 80% charge (recommended by the vehicle manufacturer), which brings my car to over 300 miles of usable travel. You can use the same app for ChargePoint public charger locations, which cost more than doing it at home, but it's still been under $10 for a charge--a lot less than filling up a gas tank. Charge time for the home Level 2 charger takes about 5-6 hours total for a full charge; at the public Level 3 charger, about 30-50 minutes (Level 3 chargers vary in power). There are three different options for purchasing this charger: hard-wired, or two different 240V plug options. I opted for the hard-wired one. If there's already a plug near where you're using it, you can go that way, but hard-wired worked great for me and was easier and less expensive for the electrician. The hard-wired version also provides slightly more current to the EV than the plug options. I would recommend meeting with your electrician before deciding on which version to buy.Overall, I am delighted with the ChargePoint HomeFlex charger. It's built sturdily, works seamlessly and keeps me on the road. I highly recommend it.

Works fine, no surprise, well made.
Nothing to complain. This is very well made, installation is straightforward and it does exactly what it is supposed to do.The reason I chose that specific one were twofolds: it looks good, and with the proper installation you can push it to 50 amps.Love it!

Competitive pricing and ready for the future
What can I say? Delivered quickly, installed easily by electrician, easy to set up on app, EV being charged! Happy to have joined the EV group- getting ready for the future.

Would have been 5 stars if activation was seamless
My electrician had no problem installing the hardwired charger but couldn't use his phone to scan the QR code for installation. We ended up using my phone to proceed but when the Installer app tried to "setup the charger" it sat spinning for at least 20 minutes w/o doing anything. Finally ended up restarting the app and all went well. You'll need the Chargepoint app for the Driver (vs Installer) to do the configuration but beyond that it's very straight-forward.
