It's really hard to properly rate these without having a fire, but they SEEM good!
This is going to be an odd review, as I'm reviewing something which I now own but which I literally have never used. Nevertheless, as a "Vine reviewer," who received these without direct cost (not NO cost, mind you, as I have to pay income tax on the "fair market value" as if it was regular income) and I'm expected to provide a fair, thorough, and honest review for the products I receive in this program. So, let me start off by saying that I HAVE used fire blankets previously, in the military, but never in civilian life. Smothering a fire by putting "fire blanket" on top of it is an effective way to reduce oxygen flow and put it out, and "fire blankets" can also be used to partially protect yourself if caught in a fire. This particular blanket design is relatively small... 40" x 40", or just a bit over 3 feet square... so it's not great for personal protection, but it IS well-suited for putting out small fires inside the home, such as stove-top fires.I got the 4-pack of them, and have placed one in each of my cars, in case of interior fire, plus two in my home (one in the kitchen, and one in the utility closet). These are the most likely locations for fires in the home to begin, and I wanted them to be immediately available. The vehicle-located ones are more likely to come in handy at locations like campgrounds or the like, but could be helpful in extinguishing an electrical fire in the passenger compartment (say, from a heated seat element, for example). They are inside of heavy plastic pouches, with a hole suitable for hanging from a nail or wall hook at the top. The bottom flap is secured with velcro tape with is affixed to the package as well as the blanket. This works very well to QUICKLY remove the blanket from the pouch in case of emergency. I tried this out. (Repacking it after testing that out was more of a challenge, but it's possible with a little patience!)Note, this type of fire blanket is really intended as a one-time-use item. Generally speaking, you would never remove it from the packaging unless you need it, and after being used to smother a fire, you'll replace it rather than attempting to recondition and re-use it. It SAYS it's re-usable, but I personally would not want to try that, as being used will "foul" it with the combustion products from whatever fire you were putting out. And getting it back in the pouch is... challenging... even if not used. So, what's the advantage of this over a fire extinguisher? WELL... first off, this never expires, never loses pressure... it's HIGHLY RELIABLE. Fire extinguishers CAN fail, and if it happens to be failed at the moment you need to use it, that's going to be a big problem for you. So, having fire blankets is a great idea as a back up for regular fire extinguishers or sprinkler systems. It also doesn't create the mess that either water-based sprinkler systems or chemical fire extinguishers do. Years ago, my then-girlfriend was trying to make candles in my kitchen and dumped melted wax on the hot stovetop (a gas stovetop). It caught fire and... well, it was impressive! I ended up using my chemical fire extinguisher to put that out... lost hair on my arms in the process, trying to turn the stovetop valves off... and filled my home with this noxious yellow powder which I was still finding on things six months later, despite heavy cleaning. In that circumstance, this blanket would have been a perfect solution, creating no additional mess (no nasty yellow dust everywhere), would have put the fire out almost immediately, and would just have been a better solution all around. So, I would encourage EVERYONE to keep both a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket in, at the very least, their home's kitchen... and to try to use the blanket FIRST, and resort to the extinguisher only if the blanket fails to do the job.I'm giving this a full five-star rating, for now, based upon what I can determine about these blankets up-front, without ever using them. They SEEM like they'd be perfect for my needs. And God willing, I'll never have cause to learn whether my impression is accurate. If I were ever to try them out in reality and they were to fail... and my home were to be destroyed, or a barbeque grill were to become the source of an outdoor fire... I'd have to revise my rating. But based upon what I can see, I don't expect that to be the case!

Seems to be a good fire fighting Euipmemt component!
I hope to never need to use, a blast from extinguisher better I suspect, but supper happy to have one of these in kitchen drawer, and near BBQ

Must-Have Fire Blanket
This fire blanket is one of those items that you hope you never need or have to use, but you should absolutely still keep it on hand anyway. It only takes an instant for a fire to start, and I feel so much better keeping these hanging in strategic places around the house, just in case!

Emergency fire blankets for home and car
This is a set of four. I'm keeping one in my car for emergencies and the rest in the house. Usage is simple, it's a blanket that you put over the fire. It smothers it by blocking air (oxygen). It's a little safer to use in the kitchen since there's no chemicals that might go spraying all around.I have not tested it, but it looks to be the proper material and has all the expected labels for conformity standards. And it feels like fiberglass, which should be strong enough for most basic fires. It won't stop special fires that generate their own oxidizing agent (eg. thermite) but that's not a common thing with most household fires.

I like that you get 4 in this pack
These fire blankets are a good value since you get a 4 pack for the price. You can keep one in the car, one in the garage, one in the kitchen and one near a grill or fire pit if you work with contained fires outdoors. These don't take up much space when folded and kept in their protective pouch. They aren't very heavy, making them portable, but they are heavy enough to do their job. I rate these at 5 stars for quality and value. You can never have enough peace of mind when it comes to fire safety and these fire blankets offer that peace of mind. Unlike a fire extinguisher that can lose its charge or not be rated for all types of fires, these blankets can smoother a fire in seconds. I highly recommend them due to ease of use and how practical they are.

Excellent fire blanket kit with many uses
This is a very solid fire blanket kit that appears very high quality and resistant. Each pack can be removed and then hung on a wall with a tab pointing downward for easy release and use. It has several varied uses as recommended on the package. Its fairly heavy but not too heavy and repackable once it has been used. I highly recommend this and with 4 blankets, you have enough for multiple bedrooms or floors.

Good Quality Fire Blankets
The first thing I noticed about these fire blankets was the weight - yes, there are 4 in the pack, but I didn't expect them to be this heavy (which is a good thing). They all have black "pull tabs" that are attached that are supposed to rip open the velcro closure, but honestly, none of them really seemed to be lined up correctly to do that - not a big deal - just pull the bag open with your hands. Full disclosure, I haven't had any fires to put out, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume these will handle the job, as long as the blankets are fireproof, they will effectively just smother whatever fire you throw them over, smothering the fire, depriving it of oxygen. While I do have several fire extinguishers on hand, I feel that these blankets would be a better solution for most smaller scenarios you might encounter. In particular, I recall the Pop-Tart toaster incident of several years ago (heavy pop tart meets old toaster that can't "pop") - one of these blankets would have been perfect in that situation vs. throwing the flaming toaster in the sink. Besides being more effective, the blankets are far less messy than using an extinguisher. While I feel it is good to have both (in case things get really out of hand), if you could only have one, I'd probably go for the blankets (but both is really optimal). I got the 4 pack, so I'll be keeping one on each floor of my house, and one in my vehicle. I can think of so many scenarios that these would be good in, including at-home uses, as well as camping & RVing.
