We got this cheese shaver and thought it would be a fun thing to have at a party! We drove all over town looking for tete de moine and could not find it anywhere! I need to find another cheese that will work with this board. You can also, apparently, use this for chocolate, but I have not had a chance to make a large enough block of chocolate to work on this yet.So unfortunately, this looks like a lot of fun, and it's a neat device, but I haven't been able to use it, yet.

In my naivete I thought tete de moine was the name given to the beautiful rosettes that were cut from this girolle. Well, I used different cheese rounds at different temperatures and was sorely defeated so to google I went. Now I need to locate a fine cheese shop that can educate/assist me. This is a very special and expensive cheese and certainly I will find a compromise out there. I don't easily accept defeat and we can/will do day trips for an educational and fun experience. The search is on.That's my story - currently. As for the girolle, I think the product is very good, especially for the price. I have a cheese dome that fits so apparently I'm all set except for the cheese. I don't want to order it. I want the experience of learning about the cheese itself - kind of like having great wine tasting experiences. So I'm rating this a 5 by appearance alone. It looks like it will perform well.I look foreword to editing this review.
