So far, so good.
I've been using this adapter to power my Yaesu FT-60 radio for a few weeks now. It's been great. No problems with it. My radio requires a minimum of 1.5 amps to transmit which is why I purchased this unit. Most adapters sold at Best Buy or other local retailers are rated at 1.3 amps or less.I read reviews that mentioned that the holes where the tips plug in aren't marked + or - so I used my multimeter to check for polarity. It seems that the side that says "TIP" is the side where the + marked pin on the tip should go.The inline ferrite bead is also a great feature. I haven't had any reports of hums or any other electrical noise from other hams when I transmit. This is a good adapter.

Isn't quite what I thought, but works.
This converter can be used from 0mA to 2500mA or 2.5 Amps. I can't find a way to adjust the amp output. Guess its just a 12v powers supply with different sizes of plugs. The prongs aren't marked at all, No information came with it.(updated 09/17/14)Well I bought this for a replacement plug for a Roland TR-707 drum machine. It didn't work at first. I then replaced the 12v power inlet jack, and it works! :) Don't know why it can handle the power. I'm suppose to use only 200mA, yet this works fine. No smoking or burnt plastic.

Universal 12V AC to DC converter
This unit works fine. My old adapter for a game table went bad (loose contact at plug point) and this one works perfectly fine as a replacement

Deep concerns
The charger is versatile in that yes, the many adaptors can be plugged into the cord with either polarity. The danger is with any device having a battery, or that would be damaged by reverse polarity, The plug on the end of the cord is NOT marked with polarity, yet the adapters do have plus and minus markings. Without using a volt meter to check, one could too easily damage or destroy a device and/or the charger.

It works.
It arrived, it is what it claimed to be, and it's working fine a month later. Solved a problem I had with an external USB drive that lost its own power supply. The flexibility of the additional adapters means it can be used for other devices in the future as well, and also meant i didn't have to know exactly what size connector the USB drive had before ordering. Maybe you can tell the difference between 2.1 and 2.5 mm just by looking, but I can't.

Junk - dead as a doornail, unfriendly seller
Arrived without a manual, and none available online. I tried this 12V 2.5 adapter on 4 pieces of equipment with existing functional 12V adapters and ratings of 2.5A or less, trying the plug direction (polarity) both ways. All equipment and their adapters had clearly marked ratings and were working. I only wanted this VCT adapter for its more compact size. So what were the results?12V 0.7A router - router did not turn on, light on adapter did not turn on12V 2.5A router - router did not turn on, light on adapter did not turn on12V 1.25A speaker - speaker did not turn on, light on adapter did not turn on12V 2.5A LED - LED did not turn on, light on adapter did not turn onCalled the distributor and they said I must have burnt out the unit! How can I do that by plugging it into equipment it is rated for? This place likes to blame their defective equipment on their customers. Makes me think they will do anything to fight a refund. Avoid this brand and this distributor [ ... ]

I bought this to replace the AC/DC power converter that I lost for my external hard drive enclosure. It cam with a tip that fit the enclosure. To determine the correct polarity for the tip, the socket that accepts the tip is marked "tip", each side of the replacement tip is marked with '+' or '-'; the replacable tip marking lined up with the socket marking determines the polarity of the center tip.
