Better than the can ones
Time saver and great applicator. Works like butter. Just remember you'll need a compressor to use the applicator. But unit is easy to use and to clean.

Easy as pie
I have never used one of these before but it worked like a pro. Just practical a couple spray to make adjustments to get the texture you want. The hopper that comes with it is no good. I figured out you can get the premix texture in a jug and it flips over and fits right on the gun. When you finish you can reseal the texture in the hub for later.

Good Hopper for the beginner/do-it-yourselfer
This hopper worked well and set up was very easy. It connected to my air compressor very easily. I did read the manual and used plumber’s tape to wrap the threads on two pieces.I used it for the first time and had difficulty securing the holding bucket to a sprayer - it just sits on it with a clamp you tighten with a screwdriver. The design would be much improved if it screwed on. I say this from experience because the bucket fell off the handle one time during my project, and the joint compound spilled all over me and the floor. Other than that, it worked well. I found out you do have to work quickly as the joint compound dries fast and will begin to harden inside the base of the filling bucket as well as inside the nozzle. If this happens, you have to empty the bucket, clean out the bucket and nozzle, and then thin out the joint compound. I used the dry joint compound and mixed the entire bag with water to a thin, pancake consistency. It was the right consistency (thinner = finer texture), but next time I will only mix about one gallon at a time rather than mixing it all at once. The joint compound in the bottom of my bucket was hardened before I finished the job, and it was wasted. Luckily I had enough usable joint compound to finish the job.

Well worth the time and effort
This was my first attempt at putting texture on a ceiling. Everything turned out far better than I expected. I think that the result was just as good as the original work done by the builder. Only issue is that I wish the nozzle had a little more upward angle. I think that would help limit the overspray when trying to get along the edges and in corners.

Works great
Easy to use and clean. Much better than the plastic version that costs the same price at my local hardware store

Great results.
If done correctly. There are multiple variables... Drywall surface preparation, prime first, texture thickness, screen the texture, air pressure setting, orifice setting, distance of gun to wall, movement of gun while applying.

Gun is great, open hopper sucks.
I don’t know why you can’t buy the pro hopper with the red lid instead of this texture gun and open hopper. It’s impossible to texture ceiling’s without spilling mud. And you can forget putting the gun down on the floor with any amount of mud in the open hopper. The gun works with this hopper if you shoot strait ahead.
