Great lapel mic versatile good value
I just got this system for the money you get a lot. This system is so versatile. You can connect any 3.5mm mic to this system. Not just a lapel mic. It has a ring on the lapel mic so it cannot come disconnected during recording. There is a built in Mic in the transmitters if you wan a run-n-gun type setup. I saw a Youtube review that he uses some type mic handle to turn the transmitter into a standard hand held mic. There are two lapel mics and two transmitters and one receiver. It has the “32 bit float” which means that your audio can be recovered if the levels are out of wack. It also has built in audio recording so if the audio is bad or you forgot to start the audio recording you have a backup. It comes with the “Dead Cat” wind muff for recording outside. Three things… 1) I have not used it enough to comment on the sound quality, 2) I wish rode made a magnetic clip that would fit the lapel mics. The included mag clip is for the transceiver and transmitter. I can adapt or tape the lapel mic to the mag clip. The mag clip is really nice. The clip for the Label Mic is just a clip and the question is where am I going to clip the clip if I am warring a T-shirt. 3) there is no noise cancelation function. So I am going to have to experiment with this recording outside. I have software on my iPad that does have a voice isolation function. That works pretty well. So maybe that will work if needed.

WASTE OF MONEY
Everything gets stuck in a firmware update. Overly complex. Overpriced and doesn’t even work.

Good value, room for improvement
Overall, this is a very good semi-professional audio solution. Sound quality is good and Rode has put a lot of thought into the feature set. Some programming features are non-intuitive, and some can only be edited via the Rode Central app on your computer. The Rode Central iPhone app version is pretty good, but with less features than the desktop version. The charging case offers some cool features, and some frustration. Rode's documentation and YouTube videos are comprehensive. Kudo's for the "preset" options for specific camera brands/models that Rode gives to help users properly set up their system.Issues that need attention:1. The logos and shiny surfaces on the Rode wireless systems have long been discussed, yet Rode continues to make them obnoxiously visible. They are well aware as they offer a feature to dim the LED lights on the transmitters.2. The buttons are in a precarious location. You can't help but hit them when pulling items out of the charging case. I wish there was a way to disable them for 10+ seconds after being removed from the charging case.3. Be aware that the locking rings on the lav mics need extra attention, or better yet revision. Used incorrectly they will lock onto the transmitters but NOT onto the lav mics. C'mon Rode....you've been making lav mics for years! How could you get this one wrong? Inexcusable, epic fail.4. A major issue with the internal recordings on the transmitters is that there is no designation in the name which transmitter is which. Even worse is that they have duplicate names. This is guaranteed to result in confusion in post. A simple solution would be to embed a custom transmitter name in each recording. Another epic fail that needs to be addressed.5. The system comes with TWO cases; one for charging and one for accessories. They are cute cases, but a MUCH better solution would be to have the charging case large enough to hold everything. One large case would have probably cost Rode less money than two cases, right? The accessory case is very cramped when full, and I will replace it with a clear utility bag for better access.6. The Time Code feature is a welcomed one, but we really need a separate output for that in applications where we want both lav mic audio and time code. Merging two lav audio sources into one is very limiting. The physical size or processing power of the receiver unit may be too small to allow better time code support. Maybe Rode will offer a separate time code generator that can work in tandem with the Wireless Mic Pro.7. The Rode Cental app has mutliple "gear" settings for the transmitters, one of which is for the internal recordings and the other for monitoring, where to export files to and other settings. I think there should just be a single settings page of settings for simplicity. To Rode's credit, they are usually pretty good with firmware updates. These may be able to fix the internal naming issue, but none of the other issues. I still contend this is a pretty good value, and hope Rode will address some of these other issues in future releases.
