Finally, a textbook without bias!
I'm being forced to read this for some college course I don't want to take and will have no future value for me but I have to say, this is a very well written textbook. Usually, textbooks involving social, legal, and ethical issues are obscenely biased and therefore impossible to read. However, as I read through A Gift of Fire, I was actually blown away by how fairly written it was. If the author has personal biases, they were kept out of this book.In a day and age where college consists mostly of having unwanted views shoved down your throat, A Gift of Fire was a breath of fresh air. Props to Sara Baase for fairly presenting multiple sides of every issue. This is the perfect example of how educational textbooks should be written.

Great book, interesting content, overpriced for a rental
Used as a rental for Computer Ethics class. It arrived brand new and was full of interesting stories. I think it was slightly overpriced for a rental or at least at the time purchased it. $101 for one semester, although the new copy had just been released.
