Comprehensive, easy to digest and FANTASTIC!
If you're starting to learn about drawing / illustration, this book is for you. If you're an Illustrator with 20+ years of experience like I am, this book is for you as well!!. Yes, the fundamentals like shape, color, hatching, etc. are there but also A LOT more! Brett takes the learner through all concepts with a friendly & easy to follow approach and he knows how to exemplify them with clear and impactful graphics.Do not get this book mixed up with those run-of-the mill "learn how-to-draw" books that appeal to the eye at the store but end up teaching you very little. This is a well-structured, thoroughly researched and one-of-a-kind Masterclass. Buy it now!

Fantastic!
I have a couple shelves worth of drawing books, and make a lot of art in my free time, but I spent the last 24 hours exploring the pages and it’s a fantastic resource for artists of all ages. Even if you don’t draw, it’s filled with beautiful drawings. Highly recommend.

Kind of a mess
I've been a fan of Brett's work for many years and was excited to get my hands on this. Unfortunately it didn't turn out all that useful and I've returned it. It could make a fun gift to a young artist just starting out. His art style is fun to look at but if you've been in the game for a while then you've already got all this information on your shelf in a number of other (better) books, and the amount of his art that's actually in this book (for how thick it is) isn't all that much. Most of the topics are covered at a very surface level, but the biggest problem I found with this book was the design/layout which I don't believe Brett actually did himself. It's chaotic and just kind of a mess, it doesn't lead you through the information it's just splattered on the pages which made me not even want to try and read it.TLDR; It would be a good gift for a young aspiring artist but if you've already got a library of art books, you can pass on this one.

great artwork. written for a 6th grader
normally love 3d total publishing. the art in this book is great. the writing is for ten year olds. kind of felt cheapened after reading the text.look at the drawings, the characters and enjoy. ignore the words on the page. they will not elevate you.
