Great For Office Space
These are fairly common in commercial buildings. I don't see them too often in residential applications. Maybe due to their price. But since networking components and hardware has come down a lot in the last few years there is no reason to not use these at home. So I decided to install them in my home office to clean up under my desk. Yes, it was a lot of work pulling the cables but it's totally worth it. The quality is good and the case is super sturdy. Five stars from me. I hope this helps to make a decision.

High Quality But Poor Implementation
I was looking for a desktop recessed hidden receptacle box. The webpage illustrates it on a desktop, and it looked like it was a quality product. Let’s analyze it.The quality of the materials is topnotch with even the box being heavy steel. The top is made from stainless steel with a brushed finish. It’s heavy stainless. The plastic access ports are hinged and made from a quality and durable plastic. The internals including the 120V outlet with charging ports is a good quality along with the three ethernet ports. Now, let’s look at functionality. You can raise the internals to different levels, but if you get much past the third slot down, then it’ll be very difficult to remove a power cord from the outlet unless you wrongly pull on the cord and not the plug. Plus, if you go much higher, then it becomes a tight bend for what’s plugged in with the lid closed. AND, if you’re higher than the third slot down, then the screws for the cover are too long. Why three ethernet ports for a desktop mount if this is supposed to be about cable management? Well, the top of this is built strong enough for a floor mount, and in some of the pictures, and in the description, it does mention floor mounts. That would make more sense with the three ethernet ports, BUT there is no internal switch, so there has to be a switch these cables come from before it enters this box. That’s a lot of ethernet cable. When the cover is closed, there is space for only two cables to exit – more if you run several through the same whole. You can run a power cord through them, but that then restricts your other cables. My point is, this box is not fully functional with the cover closed. The tab you push to lift the cover is not easily pushed as the hinge point is too close to the end.The included four machine screws to attach the cover to the box are too long unless it’s for tile set above concrete and the top of the box was set flush with the concrete. Even then, they’re really long – 1-1/8”. Plus, the head is the wrong size; it’s too small to properly fit the countersink in the lid. There are four threaded holes on two opposing sides of the box ¾” below the top of the box. Are these for securing the box to a desktop or floor? Why are they threaded? No directions were included, so you have to kind of guess.Amazon Vine sent this product to me for an honest unbiased review. Would I recommend it? This is a high-quality product with poor functionality. It has good uses, but the thought processes used in making it were poorly thought out. This makes it a substandard box made of quality materials.
