VCTVP107 Universal Outlet Plug Adapter for Italy, Travel Adapter

VCT VP107 worked well and had durable and sufficient construction.We stayed in various apartments in Sorrento, Rome, Florence, Cortona, Tiers, and Venice. The wall sockets varied with each apartment. I know a lot of people have written that it's not the right outlet adapter and they were disappointed. Just a heads up - I lived in Italy and can tell you that Italy has 2 common outlets and another less common outlet. This is the MOST COMMON of the 3 types, but depending on your stay, especially if you are staying at multiple locations around the country, you may need the other types of adapters as well. Generally I recommend this 3-prong for travelers, it is the most common and most popular on travel websites, and my experience confirms this. If you're staying at a hotel or B&B I would write ahead to inquire, most places will kindly give you an answer.I hope this helps!

Just got back from our trip to Italy. I had bought one of these plug adapters and it worked fine in the first hotel, but our second hotel room had recessed circular outlets. These types of outlets would not fit this square adapter. I'm uploading an image to the "user images gallery" for this product to illustrate the problem. Anyway, I had also seen slimmer rectangular shaped plug adapters and wish I had chosen one of those instead. I would highly recommend you choose one of the slimmer rectangular options instead of this boxy one. Essentially this adapter will only work in the style of power outlets that are flush to the face plate.

I had purchased European electrical adapters for a trip last summer and those worked out just fine. I'm planning an Italian trip in 2011 and needed these. I have not used them yet, but I can say they fit firmly with the European adapters I already own.

I ordered this adapter for my upcoming trip to Italy. I received a package with the item number shown (VCT VP107), but the adapter in the package has standard US grounded 3-prong plugs instead of the pictured 3 rounded prongs. When I spoke with customer service, all they can do is refund the money. Apparently they have no means of getting me the product shown on the page.So: 1 star review for Amazon's customer service and for VCT Electronics' packaging and shipping operation (though the product says 'fulfilled by Amazon'). I can't rate the actual adapter, obviously.

This item will work great for all your appliance that can handle the 220-240V range. Please note that this WILL NOT CONVERT 120V to 240V so do not complain if it burns out your hair dryer or curler or straightener or any other product that you stupidly plugged into it. I have no issues with my electric razor, however all women's products as aforementioned will not work.

I didn't have any problems with this adapter in Siena, Florence, or Rome. I liked the adapter with the slight extension better as it was a bit more versatile, but this one worked well in most plugs.

I was originally sent the wrong plug adaptor. Vct was kind enough to send me the correct one. I am very satisfied with the service they provided.
