I have gone through quite a number of light up dog collars. This one was well priced, looks very well made, fits and my dog and has worked perfectly so far.

Great put on my dogs at night

Being out walking with dogs at night - especially in rural areas - can be a little perilous... not only do other folk not always see the dog, but also if the dog happens to get off the lead, they're near enough invisible.This product helps with that by moving to the next logical step from "reflective" collars. By adding a small battery/ control pack and some funky luminous fabric, this collar basically turns your dog into something from the movie Tron! Tron-dog?The collar itself is a little bit of a let-down - it's basic nylon weave material and is wider than our usual collars, which may be uncomfortable for some dogs... but it's still practical and looks to be hardwearing enough. The buckle and hoop are also about average in terms of quality and implementation, so nothing groundbreaking here in terms of the actual collar itself.The collar is adjustable, and for our 8month old cockapoo we chose the medium length. It fits OK with some adjustment, so I'd say the sizing is pretty much as you would expect.The control pack for the lighting is interesting: The box is sandwiched into the collar, and access to the charging slot is easy enough, with one button that operates 4 states - Off, On constant, and 2 flashing modes. Simple enough, and very effective. However, the USB lead supplied has a proprietary connector to plug into the control pack instead of a common micro USB or USB-C, which is a bit disappointing as this means if you lose the lead, you will have to source and buy another.Charging is reasonably quick - we initially charged the collar for a couple of hours, and it easily lasted a week before the next charge - approximately 40 mins per-day, so about 7 hours, and that's on the constant on mode.In use, the collar is really quite bright... even in streetlit areas in early dusk, the collar really does help with the dog's visibility. Aside from the novelty factor (which wears off after a walk or two), it's a great, practical item which at the time of this review cost just £13.90.We're quite happy with the purchase, although this collar is only used for night walks - we certainly wouldn't recommend it being the 'daily' collar.

Really good for our evening dark walks

This is a great little dog collar. It lights up - which is just what we needed for when we take the dog (Monty) out with us for a walk on these cold dark nights in the country. It is really bright - we went for the green version and shows up really well. It is rechargeable. It has three different modes of display: steady glowing (our fave), flashing fast and flashing slowly. To be honest we will probably just keep it on the steady glowing mode as the others are a little distracting to us - and probably cars... although there are parts which have no pavement so the flashing mode may be really handy on these parts of our local roads.
