BEAUTIFUL easter story pop-up book for children (and adults!) Excellent quality and very pleased with the story line too!
I just got this in the mail from amazon and am SO pleased to add this to my son's easter basket. I can't wait. He may be a bit old for pop-up books (he is 10) but you are never too old for the word of God. I think he will enjoy this. I just love the "Jesus is Risen!" front cover. (He is risen, indeed!) There are 7 pop-up scenes. The amazon listing said 14 pages, but they are including the top&bottom part of one scene as 2 pages. Seven pages have text: a very brief summary that goes along with the picture. I love the last scene and the accompanying text, "Little tongues of fire appeared over each person's head and all the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit." There are 7 sentences on this page and every one of them are descriptive and informative, which is a wonderful ending to the book, because some of the pages seem like they were a bit shorter than they could have been. For example on the next to the last page, when Jesus says "And remember I am always with you." I wish they would have completed the line because it feels like there is a part missing where he is supposed to say "until the end of time" (Matthew 28:20) There was plenty of empty space available for more text too. After it said "Then Jesus rose up into the air and ascended to heaven" they could have also added that he would return one day in the manner he left, because Christ will come again! I also wish they would have put the bible reference somewhere on each page, for those who want to look up the story in their own bibles, so it can be easily found in case we want to read more details to older children and so people know this is a non-fiction book based on the bible!Overall I give it 4.5 stars, but I was kind and rounded up. It could use a few minor improvements, but I would not hesitate to use this in sunday school or to give as a gift. I hope there is a 2nd revision someday with the improvements mentioned. I would also love to see this author do more biblical popup books including the holy week prior to the resurrection (the book that would come before this one) describing Jesus entering town on the donkey, the last supper, praying in the garden of Gethsemane, when Judas betrays Jesus with a kiss, the crucifixion with the 2 thieves on either side.. that would be an excellent companion book. Picture and description does not do justice to this book. I almost did not buy it because there were no inside pictures, and I had no idea what was inside, so here I uploaded my own. The pop-ups are nice and I don't think they are too fragile or will break easily. Excellent quality. I think this will be a collectible book someday. It is well worth buying.

Nice bible story for children about Easter.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Very nice story about Easter and Jesus for 5-8 years old. My 5 years old grandson loves the book and very serious is listening it.

Worth adding to a pop-up book library
The paper engineering is fairly simple (definitely not as intricate as a Sabuta), but the illustrations are GORGEOUS. The story begins with Easter Sunday and ends with Pentecost...a good story to share with children after Holy Week. I have another Traini pop-up book so knew I wouldn't be disappointed with this one.

I love that this book begins with the resurrection and then ...
I love that this book begins with the resurrection and then tells all of the different post-resurrection stories, ending with the Ascension. It's a nice change of pace from books that only focus on the Passion story (which is also important). I gave this as a gift to all of my godchildren and also my own toddlers. The artwork is beautiful, colorful and engaging. The writing is simple and easy to understand, but theologically on point as well. I'm a Lutheran pastor and will be purchasing more of these books in the future to use in my ministry and give as gifts. I also HIGHLY recommend Agostino Traini's other pop-up book, The Life of Martin Luther. The Life of Martin Luther: A Pop-Up Book

Perfect book for Eastertide!
My children love studying the illustrations in this book. We actually left it open on its side standing on a shelf so that they could see different pictures from the Easter story. And the story is well told! We come from tradition that observes Easter as season that lasts until Pentecost and this book is perfect because it starts with the Resurrection and includes stories of Jesus appearing to his disciples, ascending to heaven, and of the day of Pentecost. It has been our favorite book for the Easter season and I recommended it to many others.

A great kid's book.
This book captures the interest of young children though it leaves much of the Easter story out.
