The categories are ridiculous. 'Insect' word search with bear, frog and fox to find !!?! Given it is designed to help children learn I think this is very poor. There is a website on the back but it isn't even registered. It would probably be better to buy a notepad and write your own...

This is perfect for my 5.5 year old. He’s learning to read in Kindergarten. For those parents interested he’s reading level A-E in school but he can’t really read any of the words in this book. He is able to find the pattern of the words. So far, we are up to page 28, all of the searches are relatively easy with words either vertical or horizontal and left to right and top to bottom with no diagonal or backwards patterns. As a reference, I can finish one puzzle in less then 2 mins. and he takes 5-6 mins., sometimes less. Other books we own for his age group are much more challenging and I like this one because it helps him build confidence and he can work independently. Ok, you got me... I REALLY like the fact that he can work independently! For the non parents reading this don’t judge me :-). For the parents out there, if your kido likes word searches this one will give you some downtime and it’s actually good for their brain development. So it’s a win-win.

Other than the fact that the text was bigger (which would be better for people with bad eye sight, not necessarily kids) the words were too adult. I was hoping for more kid friendly, sight words for memorization.
