These were bought for a teen birthday party as lighting for a tent. They hung between the poles but although the housing for the reel is heavy, it has a magnetic backing to attach where necessary. The lights were enough for a large tent for the kids to see all they needed. There is also a light within the housing too. Very versatile, different light options; static white, or coloured, and flashing options too.The previous charge up lasted through the whole party- easily 4+ hours.would definitely recommend these and good for the price.

Much better than I expected

This light has many different functions however a couple of useful combinations are missing. The string lights have 2 channels so either the warm white or the red green and blue lights are on. You can't choose a colour such as just blue light.Mode 1: String lights on warm whiteMode 2: String lights flash between warm white and coloured lightsMode 3: String lights fade coloured lights on and offMode 4: String lights on warm white and diffused case lit dimlyMode 5: Only the diffused case lit brightlySuper secret 3-second press mode 1: Rear case bright light on brightSuper secret 3-second press mode 2: Rear case bright light on dimSuper secret 3-second press mode 3: Rear case bright light on strobeAfter 8 seconds in any mode, the button always becomes an off button.A couple of notable things you can't do are to just have the coloured lights on steady and you can't have the coloured lights on with the diffused case lights on. I would like to see both of these modes.It has a USB-C input to charge the battery and a USB-A port to power or charge another device. However the battery is only 2000mAh so, while it gives a good run time powering the light, it won't last long charging another device. There are four LEDs to indicate the state of charge which come on when you enter any operating mode.There are magnets on the back to mount the case to a metal surface but no magnet in the trailing end of the string lights. You can pull the string lights out of the case and there's a winder to draw them back into the case. Like all these things, once the string of lights have been out for the first time, they don't go back in as easily!With so many features I don't think it is bad for £15.31, although I'd like to see a couple more combinations of functions available.

Initially worked for about an hour and then stopped working and wouldn't charge :(

Great item. Bright and easy to use

The media could not be loaded. This wind up camping string lights set is very good. Much better than expected, but can be used at home, in the garden, or even in the house, doesn't have to be for camping.Very compact when put away.Relatively easy to open up and then put a away. I found it best just to be gentle when pulling the lights out.The string lights themselves are roughly 10m long, and light up white or colours, solid or moving, very pretty.The base also has a built in led light, which is helpful to brighten up an area, so that you can see what you are doing other than just looking pretty.Usb C charger connection, so very universal.Ip44 waterproof, but I just stuck it to my van with the magnets for extra protection.This is my 2nd set, and this set was slightly cheaper, so bonusGood value at around £15.

This is a good set of string lights that we've been using on our deck to provide a little bit of decorative light. For this purpose, these lights do a good job.The set of lights I received are just a little shy of 10m and are easily USB chargeable from any mobile phone plug. The lights are easy to set up and easy to retrieve, which makes them very handy if you're moving them around a lot. Their brightness is also good too.We left them out for a couple of nights when it rained and the lights are none the worse for wear, too.Recommended.
