Q: Can a rubber boot be put on the end somehow? I dont want to mar any wood work surface

Yes if you find the right thread count. I’m not sure which is the right size, but I bought a rubber foot and couldn’t get it to fit. Ended up buying another one that came with a rubber stopper on it.
