Performance Tool W1172 SAE/Metric 52-Piece Socket Set (1/4-Inch, 3/8-Inch & 1/2-Inch Drive)

If you want a really cheap ratchet set that will get the job done, that's built fairly well and that you really don't mind if you lose pieces then this is the perfect set, the case is really flimsy but who cares, I just needed a variety of ratchet adapters and this filled the bill. I'm very happy with this purchase and you definitely get more than your money's worth.

I use this as my set that I keep in my truck for emergencies. Not Craftsman quality, but good enough for now and then use.

The case is a bit cheap, but the tools themselves surprised me. They work very well on everything I've needed them for. If you have a better place besides the case to keep them organized even better cause the plastic case isn't exactly sturdy and they easily fall out just getting the socket next to them. I'd still reccomend these either as a starter set, or in a pinch if you need a new set. For the price excellent deal.

Broke the 1/2 ratchet and first use undoing a caliper bolt for my vehicle. The 3/8 looks like any significant use will do the same. The bearings are barely sealed in, and are actually visible. The sockets themselves feel crudely shaped, and the metal feels brittle, but is actually soft and warps easy. It feels like this is a compilation of failed tools put together. The spark plug socket works, but the extension they give you has no reach, and won't be able to replace a spark plug in virtually any vehicle. I feel like i can go on and on about how say shitty this set is. It's like this "automotive" sockef set was put together without any consideration to what tools one needs to service a vehicle. You are better off buying a walmart set than this. But ideally go to a harbor freight or tractor supply if you are in the US. Either store will sell cheap entry level tools for automotive repair that will actually function. I actually got so fed up with this tool set, I threw it in a recycling bin on the way to harbor freight, although I kind of wish I returned it. I feel like I was sold literal trash. The price you spend on this set is about 3/4 the cost of a workable set, so do yourself a favor, and avoid this product. You probably came across it because your on a tight budget, but it's worth a weeks wait to save up for a slightly pricier set, believe me...

This is the poorest quality racket and socket set that I have ever seen. But, this is a medium sized set for $15, so you already knew it was cheap. The Harbor Freight set is much, much, better, but costs about $10 more.I keep this set on my boat, in my emergency tool bag, in case I break down out on the water. It’s a damp, salty, environment and even the nicest tools get rusted and corroded after a few years. Instead of ruining good tools, I’m now carrying around cheap tools and just get new ones after they rust up.The ratchet is held together with a cheap snap ring, and every time I open the kit the ratchet had exploded it’s guts out. It takes about 30 seconds to snap it back together and it works fine, but just the force of my boat hitting a wave makes the ratchet blow apart.It’s cheap junk, but it’s also the lowest priced socket set I’ve ever seen, so you get your moneys worth.It works fine as my emergency kit that rarely gets used. It would not hold up to frequent use.

This product is overall of reasonable build quality. I just started working in a small engine repair shop and I wanted a set of tools for myself to use. The tools are not perfect by any means. The tools have small cosmetic defects and the socket fits are not 100% accurate (pretty close though). The plastic case that the sockets came in is VERY fragile, but is also very well organized. Leaving the case open will allow the air to circulate around the sockets and form the correct chemical bonds with the zinc coating.P.S. !!! *** !!!The brand of tools that I received was NOT Wilmar. This was sent to me by the Amazon LLC. seller, so I don't know what you will receive if you order from another seller.P.P.S.As it turns out, "Mechanics Products" is actually a brand that Wilmar uses for some of their products.

The tools seem good, I had to change the blade on a electric hand saw and it is a very difficult bolt to break free, the socket and wrench did it with out a problem .The care case required some card board cut out to find over the pieces.to hold the sockets in place or they fell out.The seats for all the pieces are not snap in...everything is loose...an easy mod.

Love this tool set.Works for everything I need.What else can ya say about a tool set?
