Let me say that Saylor from Mainstays is one terrific person for putting his customers first above everything else. There was a little mix up on the size of the jar lids I ordered but Saylor made it right and more. His email replies were prompt plus he kept me updated on the priority mail schedule for the replacement lids. The lids are just what I wanted. They are durable plastic reusable lids for mason type jars that Mainstays sells at a very reasonable price. They replace the two part metal lids that you find on mason jars. The vacuum seal is not always desirable and can be bothersome attempting to remove the steel lid part of the jar cap. I do a lot of refrigerated pickling and these lids are just perfect for that. I will be ordering more from Mainstays in the weeks to come because the good price and the way a customer is treated at Mainstays.

I meant to order the small mouth lids which I thought were "regular" but received the wide mouth lids. Oh well.

These jar lids are a convenient way to cover canning jars and keep food fresh. The lids also keep contents secure and clean when using jars for storage of non-food items.

For winter when there are fewer flowers for them. The feeders are made of a canning jar with tiny perforations in the lid. The jar is then filled with sugar water and turned upside down in a holder. My lids had rusted. We will try to perforate the plastic lids, probably with a heated needle. We shall see if it works.

I like to be able to see what I am storing as left overs. Canning jars of all sizes when used with the plastic lids work wonderfully. I have had a set of lids for many years, but shared them with friends and needed more. They are great.

I liked the lids but do not appreciate that it looks like the bag was opened before and then it was just stapled back to keep the lids in. The staples were crooked and bag crinkled.
