This was the best decision we made- so happy with this cat door!
The media could not be loaded. I am extremely happy with my new cat door. I explored many different options and finally picked this one because of its price, size, color and positive reviews. I think the cat door is durable, the front is solid white (you don’t see any screws or anything). I plan to paint our cat door brown so that it blends in with the door. The door comes with a plastic insert that you can leave in or remove. The benefit to having the insert is that when your cat enters the room the insert makes a clunk sound and for a split second you actually know where your cat is. The bottom of the door has a magnet on it. This makes it so that the insert will always shut behind your cat.We gave our cat about a week to get used to the insert. He started to warm up to it, but he just seemed annoyed every time he had to push the door open. We ended up just taking the insert off. It was easy to just unscrew it. The door also comes with a panel that you can use to block off the opening. The installation was a breeze. I followed the directions and used the guide provided. I used a drill, pencil and box cutter. Those was unfortunately all I had at the time. I think the door turned out pretty well (see pictured) given the limited tools.

Medium Soft Flap/Soft Magnet PERFECT for both our cats and EASY to install
We ordered Medium size for our cats that are about a foot tall from floor to top of their shoulder. We wanted a soft, clear flap cat door for the door between our house and washroom/garage for our cats to access the litter box vs. the hard flap LOCKING cat door. After reading scary reviews about injured and/or scared cats for some of the LOCKING hard flap cat doors, we were happy to find this soft flap/soft magnet cat door, with a taller opening as well, which we wanted. Our cats are easily spooked, so we taped up the flap to begin with. They were both wary; but happy to say we have one cat that is a bit more inquisitive, and she showed our male cat the way. Both started using the cat door right away. Tomorrow we'll take the tape off the flap and cross our fingers. The Installation was easy for two of us to complete in about 30 to 45 minutes. Reviewing the Video online helped, and you need the right tools including a Jigsaw. We put our door on sawhorses to measure the cutout using the plastic sliding door insert, as suggested, as a template. Fortunately, it worked perfectly; and the longer screws that came with the cat door also worked well. Our cats are fairly tall, and we installed the bottom starting at 4.5 inches from the floor and it works perfectly. The cats can easily walk through without having to bend down much at all.Hope some will find this review helpful for you and your pets. Well worth the money. Good Luck.

Perfect on cats tails.
This product we used on a hollow closet door. My husband traced the actual piece that goes through the door not the panel the directions say to trace. It was movable in the door slightly but nothing that bothered us. If you want it more snug just cut inside the line you traced. He used a jigsaw to cut it out. It was a very quick and easy install. I love that the flap is soft flexible plastic because I read a lot of reviews on other cat doors that said it hurt their cat's tails and this one does not or could not hurt their tails. Also I have 4 Extra Large cats and they all got the hang of it within an hour. We first closed them in the closet so they could try to get out on their own and some of them we had to push through to show them how to do it but it works great. It also helps contain any smell to the closet from their litter which is what we got it for. We use pine pellets for litter which makes the pee smell go away but any time they poop we'd have to go in and scoop it right away because it would smell like they pooped right next to us. This door allows us to close the closet door and contain the smell so we only have to scoop poop once a day or twice if they went more often that day.

Excellent Cat Door
I researched a number of cat doors to find one that was safe for my cats to use. My concern was finding a cat door with a flexible flap so their tails and paws wouldn't get caught or pinched. All of the cat doors in Home Depot and Lowes were the unacceptable hard flap type. It took me a while to find this one. One important point to consider. The minimum size you should purchase is medium. If you have Maine Coons or any of the bigger cats I would opt for large. The interior door in question isn't really a door, it's a hinged wooden divider between the kitchen and den. This divider is about half the thickness of a regular door and thinner than the minimum thickness specified by the cat door. Overall, installing the cat door was easy by following the instructions but I still needed to frame it out a bit to compensate for the thinner divider. One thing I noticed - after the fact, unfortunately - is that the provided template used to cut out the door opening is too big (height-wise) for the cat door by almost two inches. It didn't matter to me since I had to do some carpentry anyway but I would have been furious if this had been an expensive oak paneled door. My advice is to be careful when you measure the opening. Use the cat door itself as the cutting guide, not the template. After a very short period of natural feline suspicion and avoidance, the cats began to use the door. At the beginning we had to coax them through but now they use it constantly without any human intervention. The cat door is top quality, the cats love it, and I'm glad I made the purchase. My rating is 4-stars only because of the template issue.

Still working great
I installed in my basement door inside the house. Cats love hanging out downstairs where it's cool and dark. 3 cats using several times a day and it's been over a year. They can easily push it open and it closes and stays closed. Some I've used before start bending and stop sealing. This one has held up well. Still seals tight and I've had no issues. Not sure how weather would affect it as mine is inside.

Excelente!

Almost Perfect Cat Door
The media could not be loaded. The cats figured it out almost instantly - with some coaching and snacks. We did find the click of the magnet annoying, so I hot glued the bottom magnet down to render it immobile. Problem solved. The flap still returns to a taut closed position, but without a sound. We have a tall skinny cat and pudgy cat with a low hanging belly -- they both fit through the door without issue. Both cats have long hair and there are no issues with snagging/pulling.

Good value for the dollars!
I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I added this cat flap to my bedroom door in my condo. (2 bed, 2 bath, have a roommate.) For two years I kept it propped open 24/7 as my cat's litter box was in my master bathroom and I couldn't cut access off by closing the door. Ever. For some reason I came across these while looking for something else and the light bulb went off. I ordered it and it arrived quickly. Even a 60 year old female didn't find it too difficult to install, although I will say if you have a hollow door you may have a bit of shredding if using a jigsaw to cut through. Easy enough to repair though. It took my 2 and 1/2 year old floof exactly 10 minutes to figure it out. Now I have to laugh at him when I open the door and he follows me through - he stops for a second and looks at the flap, wondering if he should go through there.... As I said, I don't know why I didn't think of it before, (probably because I've had cats all my life but never a cat flap.) It's awesome! Now I can keep the door closed whenever I want. I'm really happy with it!

like our old one did
Wanted a large, soft cat flap that wouldn't get stuck, thereby locking the cats in or out, like our old one did. This works perfectly and looks pretty smart as well. As an added bonus, it comes with a solid plastic plate that can be slotted in to block the opening entirely, so that if you want you can keep the cats indoors (e.g. fireworks night, etc) or indeed outdoors (sounds cruel, but very helpful if your cats are hunters like ours – occasionally we'll spot them from the kitchen window coming down the garden with a 'present' for us; chocolates, flowers, wine, etc, are always appreciated, mice and birds no so much!
