ELS PET Self Cleaning Cat Litter Tray: 2024 Upgrade Version Automatic Cat Litter Box with Safety Door, 60L Extra Large Smart Robot Litter Tray with APP Multiple Cats

This was a considered purchase due to the high price but I’m so glad I bought it! I have two cats and only change the bag twice a week! I’m going through far less cat litter and because this device is constantly sterilising the remaining litter with the blue light smells and odours are vastly reduced. My machine stopped working after 2 weeks and I realised that I’d used to much cat litter! I halved the amount and it’s fine but it’s worth a mention that if there’s to much litter in the box then the rake freezes because what kicks in is actually THE SAFETY MECHANISM because the machine thinks it’s a cat in there! So this was reassuring to me that the actual rake can sense either a cat or to much bulky cat litter. But all in all a great machine.

They were close with this machineFrustrating because the concept is excellent.V difficult to clean. Smelly after a while.Unit stopped worked after a couple of months. The rake became unresponsive. Was left with an expensive smelly litter tray thus a waste of moneyCrap app. Should have been sexy.Customer support pretty useless as don’t communicate properly. Clearly understaffed. I suspect even overwhelmed with customer complaints.

It has been a few weeks since I set up the ELS PET Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Tray. With just one cat, I placed the tray in my utility room, which offers ample space. As seen in the photos I’ve uploaded, the tray is quite large, approximately the width of a doorway.I was initially unsure how my cat would react to the new tray, but he started using it fairly quickly.The installation was straightforward. Following the provided guides made it easy to set up both the tray’s hardware and the app, which monitors usage and controls its features.I chose this tray for three main reasons: First, the technology seemed promising for a task that neither my wife nor I enjoy. Second, the automated cleaning function would keep the tray consistently clean and reduce our cleaning to just a few times a month. Third, the tray’s marketing claimed it used UV light to eliminate odors.Unfortunately, this is where the tray falls short. Despite the high cost, the tray does not eliminate odors as advertised. We now have a large device in our utility room that still allows the smell to permeate throughout the house.In summary, while the concept is impressive and the automation works well, the tray fails to address odor control effectively. Given its size and price, it doesn’t meet all its promises.

The media could not be loaded. Update: as still under warranty i got a replacement product with the old acting as spare parts. So far, the new product is working fine with no issues. Customer service has been great in resolving the issue.So, as of February 2025. The unit has broken down consistently every couple of months since July 2024 (conveniently misses the 30Day return policy from amazon). Cat barely got to use it because it breaks down. I have done DIY fixing it using the elspet customer service instructions and spent good 2 hours trying to fix the unit. Sadly it doesnt work. I have an expensive litter box until warranty runs out and the unit it useless taking up space.While elspet customer service is good, it gives me no comfort in resolving the unit issue.I would not recommend the unit unless your happy to fix it yourself on a regular basis.Update- i have received the replacement sensors. I followed the link provided by support for changing the sensors. While it was a little fiddly with detaching the cable everything else was good with no problem. You have to be very careful when removing the cable as not to detach any other cable. However, I managed to replace the sensors and now the item is working fine. Rake moves ok with no problem. I will continue to monitor. I do have more videos to show the replacement procedure but, i only managed to post one.After using this product for exactly 2 months the rake on the product stopped working. I have followed every troubleshooting step on the elspet website and unfortunately, no luck in resolving the issue. All advice from the troubleshooting videos point to contacting elspet customer service. And there is a possibility that the sensor may need changing.My point is, (i am good with DIY) but, with an expensive item i shouldnt need to change anything after less than two months of use. The quality in that is a failure.I have contacted elspet customer service. Still waiting for a response. After being passed from the “help” team to support team. I Will update with outcome. In the meantime i now have a expensive manual litter box 😞Other factors of the item:Item sits well on hard floor not issue (placed in kitchen). It is big and does take up space (thankfully kitchen is big enough to accommodate). Smell does escape so, best to clean every 3-4 days depending where item is placed. The door on the system only closes when cleaning. So, the smell does escape. Worth putting a thin plastic screen to cover the entrance but, allow easy access to bin. The App is basic. Would prefer to have more function of the litter bin to be on the app i.e. moving the rack, re-setting the pressure sensor, manual etc.Ease of cleaning -is good, ease of opening -good and ease of use -good. Value for money -Not good. Too expensive for the trouble.Will update further once resolved.

I have 1 week since i am using the litter. Is easy to set it up using the app. Is very cat friendly, my cat seems happy with it. But it does not completely do as it say, there is still some smell left. I need to change the litter bag every 2-3 days so I don’t feel the smell at all. Or maybe is really impossible to have completely no smell and i was waiting a miracle. The scooping is good though and I don’t see much leftovers inside the litter. I would say is worth the money but don’t have too high expectations.

Love it . It is quite big , but nice to have . Kitten loves it too but have lost a couple of toys as she has left in tray and been cleaned away to poo box .

We bought this as it was meant to be good (recommended by a friend). We got it and the cats used it. After 2 months functions started failing (self cleaning etc). We got in contact with ELS pet who were not very helpful. They told me they would send me new sensors out. I got the 4 sensors about 6/7 weeks later and it had no directions on what to do. We figured it out (eventually) but the tray is now even worse. The after sales support is very un helpful especially when you ask for tech support

My cats ( 2 ragdolls) were very scared to use the new cat litter box for about 2weeks.Now they are happy to used it and we are happy as is much less to clean . Overall we are very satisfied with our purchase.
