Fiskars Snow Light Snow Pusher - Aluminium, Spade Width: 44 cm, Synthetic material/Aluminium, Black/Silver, 1001636

I had been searching the internet for a shovel to handle the heavy and extreme snow we get in the Aberdeenshire countryside . I looked around and found this Fiskas shovel at a price I was happy to pay . I have been let down for years from the typical flimbsey plastic shovels and even the ones with added metal blade which last 5 minutes before buckling and falling off .I purchased 2 of these shovels back in November 2018 in preperation incase we had a repeat of the bad Winter we had just been through between November 2017 - May 2018 .The 2 boxes came and they are very large and well packaged to protect the shovels . I stand at 6ft and out of the box the shovels came to just a bit past my shoulder .Although they are large shovels they are fairly light yet very sturdy and well made . I haven't had any snow as of yet obviously but when I do I believe that these shovels will be great for the job .I would highly recommend this shovel and hope this review helps ypu in your choice

Unfortunately (or would that be fortunately!) it hasn't snowed since I bought this shovel so I cannot comment on how well the shovel worked although it does look OK.My main complaint is that the handle was very rough. I had to sand the handle down and varnish it to prevent wood splinters getting into my hands. Fortunately both the handle and the blade were fitted with screws so I could remove both. That said the handle wasn't pushed all the way on and I rectified this. Had I not done so the screws would have taken all the load.The wood used for the handle was of pretty poor quality. If this had been a broom that you used regularly I would have been even more miffed

I bought this as a precaution for another bad winter, so obviously have not had a chance to use it.It does seem very sturdy and I have no doubt it will be up to the job. I have read complaints about the handle being rough and in need of sanding & varnishing. The one I received has a very smooth handle, so no complaints there.I especially like the metal edge on the shovel and would recommend it as a useful tool but I will not mind if I do not need to use it this winter!

I haven't used the snow shovel yet but it seems well made and quite strong. Much better than the red plastic one I used to have which went brittle. Quick delivery and well packaged. There are a couple of holes in the bottom and one in the top for screws into the handle. I would recommend using these to prevent the handle twisting or pulling out. With luck I won't need it this year!

Excellent tool, much more harder wearing than the plastic ones and the ONLY shovel I have found tough enough to clean out hardened cow-cake.

Quite good and sturdy but could possibly do with a wider head for thick snow

After last year's winter where snow shovels quickly went out of stock and where they were in stock the price had quadrupled. Bought this in the summer to avoid any similar issues. Seems pretty well made. Have not had a chance to try it out yet so can't review properly.

Unfortunately we haven't had any snow since I purchased the shovel but am ready for next year. It cetainly looks as though it will do the job much better than a garden spade!
